posikyle (165), Alabama, USA Mar 1, 2008 Better than your typical witbier. Pours a beautiful golden color, with a small but well formed head. Aroma is very noticeably malt, while flavor is dominated by a more flowery, hoppy taste. Ends malty and sweet. Will definitely be buying again. Ernest (4481), Boulder, Colorado, USA Feb 27, 2008 Bottle.
Head is initially small, frothy/fizzy, white, mostly diminishing.
Body is hazy medium yellow.
Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (toasted grain, husks/cereal), lightly to moderately yeasty (mold, basement), with notes of buttered popcorn (diacetyl?), pear syrup, cotton candy, squash.
Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter.
Medium to full body, velvety/syrupy texture, lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic.
Pretty awful stuff. No aromatic resemblance to a witbier, some nasty odors in there instead. A syrupy-sweet, clumsy mess of a beer. BeerandBlues2 (3201), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Feb 24, 2008 750 mL bottle. Pours clear dark yellow with a small, fizzy, white head, lasting with fair lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (bread, hay, straw, meal), light hops (flowers, grass), heavy yeast (horse blanket, barnyard) with notes of grapes. Light bodied, oily texture, lively carbonation, and a metallic finish. Average duration, light sweetness, acidity, and bitterness. cgort (52), mission viejo, California, USA Feb 22, 2008 pours cloudy orange with a quickly dissipating, thin white head. The aroma reminded me of wine when I first opened it but while in the glass had the aroma of very sweet candy. tasted like sweet candy, banana and clove. the palate was little and watery. Overall this beer was ok but tasted watered down and was a little sweet for my liking. 17thfloor (1403), Chicago, Illinois, USA Feb 17, 2008 This is some hoppy stuff for a wit. Pours light orange with a sudsy white head. Aroma of macro-brew, sour metallic, spices, lemon, yeast and banana. Hot flavor, bitter hops, spices, sweet green apples, ginger, very soft mellow wheat. Really fluffy wheat palate considering the appearance of it. This one works for some reason. tomthompson89 (1459), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Feb 1, 2008 kind of a golden color, thick foam, lots of lacing, nose is very grassy, with some lemon and fruits like apple or pear, some coriander and clove too, flavor is wheat and clove, some citrus. dry finish, nice beer Radek Kliber (3926), Toronto (Can) Krotoszyn (Pol), Ontario, Canada Feb 1, 2008 Bottle 750ml (corked)
Appearance: Light gold with medium haze , medium bright top. Sparse lacing shown 3+ Nose : Sweet candy aroma , fruity caramel , hint of pear , gentle tartness at finish , yeasty wrap. Flavor/Palate : Clean yeasty chatter , good clean grainy feel with citric freshness. Long lasting Belgian wit accents . Positive full body often missing in this style that came with extras umph .
