My first exeperience with a "double" or "imperial" wit and I have to say I likey very much. Very full-bodied and smooth hiding the higher ABV very nicely.

This has the aroma of a Bavarian hefeweizen. Brilliant sparkling gold color with a white head that did not last. Full bodied. Creamy carbonation. Clove. Light Banane. Maybe some pepper. Or not. Very smooth. It finishes less than dry. Think about this. The banana is very subdued. Try to find it. It finishes sweeter than a hefe. Still. Think about it. This could be one of the best beers. A Wit? Probably not. Maybe it is unique.

Bottle and Draught @ Brouwer’s Café: Straw in color, very hazy, quite thick actually, large finely bubbled head, foamy, great retention, attractive lacing. A little darker in color than expected, but this is an Imperial Witbier right?! Soft spices on the nose, somewhat muted. Appears to also be somewhat wheaty. While the nose is somewhat muted in regards to spices, its quite spicy on the tongue. Not a lot going on, but what is there is quite robust and lasts from start to finish. I am unclear if its just orange peel or corriander, but it is quite strong. Remains fairly wheaty, well rounded on the tongue. Fairly thick mouthfeel. A true Imperial Witbier!? Very clean finish, spices linger, but what I notice most is the heavy wheatiness. I was told it was 33% Wheat Malt, but it certainly feels thicker than that. Very clean finish, albiet perhaps not a spiced as much as I would like. However, this one works for me. What it does have it showcases very well. Not sure I would add much to this. Its a pleasure to drink, and I am sad to see that I have just finished my bottle. Cheers Alan! You have a great "White One" that I think will do quite well. The 7.5% ABV is very well hidden... drinks like a standard Witbier but packs a wallop!

Tap, City Beer Store. A big but very drinkable witbier. This beer is a concentrated dose of summer. The aroma is all sunny wheat, mild spices, citrus and yeasty goodness. The taste is sweet but pleasing with a dry, yeasty finish. The citrus, sugary lemons and tangerines, is stronger in the mouth. Mouthfeel is light but full, rich but drinkable. It’s interesting on the palate, managing to be both thick and light. I didn’t expect to like this beer so much, but it won me over.

pours a lively frothy consistant head that sticks with it the whole glass. Cloudy appearance with sediment that settles on the bottom. Taste of citrus and funky fruit. Tastes almost like tropical fruit. Cleaner palette than other similar beers I’ve had. Pretty sweet but great for a glass or two. Would buy again.
