2.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
UPDATED: NOV 18, 2015 Pours amber with a nice white head. Aromas are nice, herbal, notes of cereal. The taste is fully charged with alcohol though. If someone had told me that this one was a 13% beer I would have believed them. But it is only 7%... bad, bad balance* that worsens the taste. The texture is quite watery, if however it is medium body and the finish is neither too shot nor too long. The alcohol taste - it seemed almost like fortified beer! - is a let down.
-------& Maybe it’s a bad batch, or a particularly old bottle. However, I’m not going to have this one again in the near future to compare...

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
A very nice belgian hoppy golden pale ale. First smell is a little underwhelming but really pleasant. First sip immediately dives in. Lots of flavour, some bitterness, hops dancing on your tongue. A really good brew.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from Masuyo’s. Pours a slightly hazy gold with a huge rocky white head. Lots of yeast on the nose with some light lemon zest, banana, clove, cardamon and alcohol aromas present. Starts out with a little sweetness, then finishes with a strong bitterness with some woody and mineral character as well. Great carbonation with a medium body. Excellent lacing throughout. An almost saison-like character but the booze shows on the finish. Very enjoyable classic Belgian.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Yeasty, banana cake, clove. Honey, orange, herbal hops, oak, bit of spice, bitter finish with a boozy edge. Classic one but maybe not the most complex nor refined Belgian strong.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Piurs a clear golden color with a large foamy white head. Nose of dark fruits, spices, brown sugar, yeast, hay, malt. Taste is smooth sweetness. Small hoppy finish. Light to medium body. Alcool is quite well hidden but you get a little pleasant alcool finish. Not as good as other belgian but still good.
