2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Third attempt at this one, the first being late 2005 and left unimpressed then.
Out the bottle at just on cool and into a snifter. Hazy pour before being joined by a bad case of the floaties that unavoidably ’plop’ into the glass. Average two finger crown is mostly lasting but manages a fine Belgian lace. The carbonation fine and streaming, the floaties eddy but don’t settle. Yeasty nose, mildly tannic and predominately candyish with hints of guava and pear, and medicinal alcohol. There is a hot, spicy, vodka-like kick to it. Esters of supple pale fruit, guava, canteloupe, pear drops. Quite sweet, the body full and gluggy not helped by the chunky yeast, the carbonation spritzy giving it some height. The finish is creamy, chunky with bitter underripe fruit, alcohol warmth and noticeable tannins. This is similar to the notes from 2005. Is it three unlucky batches here in Oz, I think not! (33cL, 9.0% ABV, BBE 04/14, Thirsty Camel, Butler)

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
330 ml mock stoneware bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 9%. The glass fills completely by a white foamy head, and the golden beer below appears only slowly. Strong and "typically Belgian" sweetish aroma with yeasty, spicy and fruity notes. The flavour is also spicy, medium sweet and "typically Belgian", with distinct hops in the finish. Warming mouthfeel. A few of La Guillotine, and you might lose your head completely ...

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
9% ABV. Hazy orange pour with a big, fine pored white head, which diminishes slowly to a filmy one.
Light sharp start followed by a fruity, peach and mandarin tasted aroma escorted by honey, citrusses, notes of coriander and distinct herbs with alcohol in the background, mouthfeel’s slick and moderate sticky.
It finishes long, sweetbitter and dry with tart citrusses, spices and alcohol, which leaves a tart-spicy aftertaste behind.
Great and well balanced one.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
draft @ Delirium as Guillotine Bitter.
Dorée, col blanc
Arôme est dans la lignée des Delirium avec ce nez qui se retrouve dans bcp de leurs bières. Note de houblon, malt léger pale, qui pour moi me rappelle tout de ces bières malt liquor des US.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Backlog from 27 June 2011. Bottle in Budapest. Orange pour with consistent carb and a Duvelish head (!). Nose is straight yeast and basically Pilsner malt. Taste is yeast and candy sugar, but not really sweet; grittyish and dry with nice yeast notes. Warms the chest but not boozy, mild fruitiness alcohol, well-hidden but this one’s about the yeast.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle at home. Great bottle! Beer pours a golden amber with a thick white head that fades to almost nothing. Slight lacing. Nose is christmas spice, cloves, hint of banana, vanilla. Similar flavours, big sweetness, pretty fizzy but with a decent spiced hop finish. Alcohol hum too. Not bad at all.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle. Orange colour with a white head. Smell of grapefruit, lemon and Belgian yeast. Flavour is strong alcoholic. Bites a lot on the tongue. Gets better when warmer.
