3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Smells sweet of yeast. Light amber with large sustainable head. Sweet, light tropical fruits, bananas? Slightly bitter in the aftertaste. A pleasant triple, not too special though...

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Four decades before the Belgian Revolution a simple well engineered device allowed for the blood of Parisians to flow like wine in their streets, and set the next century in motion. Aroma of cider, perry and yeasty floral citrus. Beautiful clear orange pour that is alive with carbonation and poofy white head. Sharp ester filled taste, definitely sweet but hard to tell if it’s really bitter. Perhaps better described as off-sour. Light body, kind of sticky, extreme zest. Drinking Belgian ales may not make you lose your head, but you might misplace your mind for a time

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at Tyler’s, Durham. Kind of a sticky copper pour, with a nice filmy head. Nose of soft noble hops, fruitbread, and esters. Mouthfeel a bit sticky, thought there’d be more liveliness from the hops. Flavors are a bit out of sorts, as if they can’t seem to decide between brightly hoppy and heavily sweet. Average BSA.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle thanks to Alemax. Pours a slightly hazy dark copper with coarse, bright white head. Settles in minutes with some thick clumps of lacing. Aroma is very fruity and floral, strong apple, pear, smells quite sweet, very mild alcohol. Flavor is fruity, apple, sweet, with a sweet malty, juicy finish. Seemed surprisingly bitter the first few sips, fortunately it faded as the beer warmed and my palate became saturated. Alcohol is relatively well masked. Lively carbonation (at least initially), medium body, crisp texture and moderately dry finish. A tasty belgian ale, though I don’t feel it is quite as refined as the delerium beers.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Some bar: Pours hazy yellow gold with a white head. Aroma is yeast, fruitiness, and light hops. Taste is kind of on the sweet side with a hoppy undertone. Not too bitter. Mild aftertaste. Really fizzy and carbonated mouth feel. Pleasant enough to drink.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at Black Bottle Brewery. Gold and clear with an off-white head and lacing. The aroma is bitter hops, light sweet malts and light fruit. Similar flavor with a medium body and a dry smooth feel. The finish was bittersweet. The alcohol is mostly hidden. It was OK.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Happy 1400th rating ;) This beer comes in a very cool stoney bottle, what is quite unusual in German standards. Deep amber colour with low creamy head and smooth body. Nose of hops. Taste of ripe hops, white peppers, light coriander, light Belgian yeast and straw. Very easy and nice to drink with light hoppy touches. Enjoyed it a lot.
