riversideAK (1562), Shoreline, Washington, USA Oct 23, 2007 Malt and grain aroma with some sour funky hops. Orange in color. Hoppy and bitter, but kind of boring and generic if you know what I’m saying. General_Gao (2442), Iowa City, Iowa, USA May 5, 2006 Draught at the brewpub. Clear copper color with a thin off white head. Prominent grapefruity hop aroma that drowned out any other smells. Very tasty, dominated again by citrusy hops blended nicely with toasty, caramel malt flavors. Moderately bitter hop finish. SDbruboy (1819), San Diego, California, USA Mar 17, 2006 On draught at the brewpub. Medium amber color, clear with a thin head and a trace of lace. Faint aroma of floral hops and not much else discernable. Sweet toasty and caramel maltiness with a balancing hoppiness, floral and herbal, a touch of tart green apple with a mildly spicy finish. Medium body, assertive - almost foamy - carbonaton that takes a while to settle in the mouth. BückDich (4525), Boise, Idaho, USA Mar 4, 2006 Draught at the Brewpub: Bronze color, nose of grassy citrusy hops. Flavor is pale and light in itterness, thin body. A decent all around IPA. Hoppy enough to be called San Diegan, but just comes across average because it barely makes the cut. DarkElf (2627), La Jolla, California, USA Jul 10, 2004 (Draft: Beach House Brewery in La Jolla, CA) One of the better beers at Beach House, this IPA is totally dominated from start to finish by grapefruit hoppiness; It’s a moderately sweet beer, but because of the dominating grapefruit, you don’t really notice it until the hops beats on your tongue for awhile; Very piney nose is quite nice; Medium bodied with a crisp, clean palate; Dark golden in color; Headless pour, but with a mild sheen on top, like an oil slick
