Weird reddish golden beer with a big bubbled with head. Reddish floaties! Rather sweet perfumy aroma, like chemical cherry lollipops. Malty taste with notes reminiscent of hemp beers (a la Hogtown). Very little hops. Where’s the carrots, oh yeah, near the end.

Bland caramel creates a tasteless, oily palate, secretly singed by carrots...Probably no hops in this, at least none can be tasted, only that slick but boring maltiness pervades...Another yawn of a novelty from Mont-Laurier...

Amber colour with a beautifully effervescent and billowy white head. Smells pleasantly like sweet mashed carrots and hints of sweet potatoes. Hint of carrot and some slight bitterness in a rather boring flavour profile. Disappointing. Mondial 2T (Radek).

Bright orange, big pleasant foamy head. Fresh juicy carrot aroma, followed but some other mixed vegetables. Medium bodied, some plastic note ruins (other than that) good beer. Interesting style.

UPDATED: SEP 6, 2006 Bottle (12oz). Shared with blankboy, GregClow and tupalev, tupalev’s bottle. Hazy gold with a decent fizzy white head. Smells like sweetenned solvent mixed with fake carrot juice - not beer. Frankly, I’m afraid to drink it ... shit! I was right - diactyl and chemicals, no carrot or beer character. Thin, harsh, nasty mouthfeel, sharply fizzy, long ugly taste and worse aftertaste. Punishment.

Bottle shared with HogTownHarry, GregClow & tupalev -- courtesy of tupalev. I was actually scared of this sucker having experienced their jalapeno beer...shudder...it was so awful. Pours a hazy golden-orange with an average size diminishing white head. Aroma’s quite sweet, sugary with some apple and maybe carrot. Artificial flavour of sugar, sweet malt, apple and spices -- it’s definitely odd, it tastes nothing like beer, but it’s not as bad as I feared. Still, it’s not good either. Light bodied. Wow, this brewery truly makes bad beer.

RBSG 2005... Poured a hazy golden color, with a small white head that left spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of tropical fruits, citrus, and subtle carrot notes. Taste was sweet and spicy, a little bland, light hoppiness and finishing with that trademark carrot character. The bottle Walt bought must have been a fresher bottle, as I did not find this as bad as the other raters.

Verre de dégustation, provenant d’un fût, dégusté au Festival Bières et Saveurs 2006 (Chambly, QC). Arôme: Odeur de légumes et de citron. Apparence: La couleur est blonde orangée avec une moyenne densité de bulle. Présence d’un moyen col mousseux et d’une large dentelle sur le verre. Saveur: Goût de carottes bouillies. Courte durée de l’arrière goût. Palette: Le corps est mince avec une texture légèrement minérale. Faible effervescence en bouche. (Rating #632)

Sweet mashed carrots and sweet potatoes in the aroma. Orange. Clear. Good carbonation. Big, bubbly head. Soapy flavour and rather unpleasantly bitter. Medium-light. Heavy carbonation. Bottle (sampled at Mondial 2004).

341 ml bottle. Bugs Bunny darts furtively through farmer Elmer’s garden plot, searching for the perfect carrot...thin, clear, sickly orange with a mere dusting of snow in this frigid winter, this isn’t it but it’ll have to do...he sniffs, and sugary-sweet maple-glazed baby carrots and orange-peel assault his delicate nostrils...he reels in horror, this is no real carrot, this is not going to save him...but he perseveres, and tastes...he is plunged into a dark world of bitter hard water, brackish and metallic, foul and poisonous...he gags, retches...his eyes glaze and he is blind to the hunter...BANG!!
