Bouteille 341 ml. Couleur rousse, mousse beige pâle. 5.4%. Correct.

Originally rated July 2006. Purchased at La Trappe À Fromage. Pours a copper colour with a big off-white yellowish fizzy-cream head that dissipates at a better than average pace, leaving some thick lace on one side of the glass. Very active all-over carbonation. The nose is quite hoppy with some light roasted malt in the background. Still a 4mm creamy head is present after 4-5 minutes. Time to taste know. Flat watery mouthfeel. Mild bitterness in the finish. Dull flavours of mild fruit, caramel and sourness. Too bad, after a good start with a good look and scent.

341 bottle brewed a year ago. Clear reddish brown minimal white head. A: citrusy, caramel, toasty with some roastiness. F: body is medium with a medium long bitter finish. O: ok. I’m wondering what the fresh product might taste. The beer a drank today is a grand public amber.

Pours an orange reddish brown with a thinning white head. Aroma is very astringent copper sweet caramel. Taste is a very harsh astringent alcohol bite followed by a sweet caramel and roasted malt. Fairly imbalanced and not terribly pleasant.

Pours with reliable head even when chilled, nice foggy brown-amber body. Aroma is all hops and coriander. Flavour is swampwater with a malt and coriander finish. Maybe I just don’t like red beers, because there are so few of them I like - and this isn’t one of them.
