I bought 3 bottles, for my parents and me. The first one was almost flat, the second normally carbonated and the third one was way too much carbonated (4/5 of the glass filled with foam). The ginger goes really well with this beer.

Picked out by my wife while in Montreal and shared this evening. Pours a pale golden straw color with a hint of foam that settles on top. Nose is stale oatmeal, hay and ginger. Palate taste like a unsweetened ginger ale with lots of melted ice. Watery thin but easy to drink and actually a pretty nice digestive aid after a nice big home cooked meal.

330ml, Pours quite yellow with little head, mostly filtered. Aroma is actually quite gingery, and it’s quite nice. Taste has some of ginger too (a bit less), with a bit more dimension. Fruitiness and cruddy malts. Decently drinkable. Certainly very interesting and unique. Doesn’t really taste like ginger ale (soda) at all. Certainly not great, but I’m giving this a decent rating because of its definite interest and uniqueness.

Pours an insane carbonation bomb. Pours a very pale yellow with a HUGE white fizzy head. Aroma is ginger and sweet malts. Taste is stinging ginger with straw malt.

UPDATED: DEC 22, 2013 Originally rated March 2006. The first small pour of this brew created a huge white foamy head completely filling the glass. After a few pours, I finally got everything in. Crazy vivid carbonation, medium retention, patchy lacing and a head that fizz like ginger ale (except longer). Hazy golden-beige colour with some small white sediment in the bottom of the glass. The nose is kind of sour with nice citrus perfume and a touch of ginger in the back. The taste starts off sour (maybe pass the best before date ?) with slight ginger in the aftertaste. After a while, the sourness seems to disappear a bit. There seems to be a touch of wax, which I also found in their carrot brew, and don’t really enjoy. Overall good, but wish the ginger would be a tad more evident in the taste. Note: bought some at the brewery and did not drink it for over a year. Actually, much better nowadays as no sourness from infection and ginger is nicely balanced overall.
