3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a hazy orange-amber with a large lasting off-white head. Aroma smells nice, it’s spicy along with lots of hops, backed by caramel malt and a bit of alcohol. Flavour’s the same, spicy and hoppy along with caramel malt, alcohol and a somewhat bitter finish. Perhaps a bit too boozy and the finish is a little astringent. Medium bodied. For this brewery this is very good, I’d happily have it again, so maybe it’s a sign this brewery is getting better? I can’t say I like all their beers otherwise. A smaller format would be great as well.

2.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 5/20
1 L growler. Bottling date is October 2011...oops. Pours a clear reddish amber with a short lived white head. Aroma is caramel and hops. Flavor is malt, caramel, fruity notes. Finish is very metallic. Lingering cola flavor. Syrupy mouthfeel. Average carbonation. It was probably WAY too old...Don’t worry, I used it for cooking ribs instead of letting it go to waste.

Bouteille de 1l, robe cuivrée, arôme de houblons, en bouche c’est assez liquoreux, explosion de houblon, belle amertume.

1.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
1L swingtop bottle, pours a clear golden with a medium white head. Aroma is very musty, with body odour, sweaty armpits, biscuity malts and no hop presence whatsoever. Flavour of slightly bitter hops (but more appropriate for an APA), biscuity malts, then the weird body odour and sweaty armpits show up. Finishes lightly bitter, biscuity and armpit-like. Not horrendous, but not sure what the hell they were going for here, as it’s way off the mark. Pretty damn poor.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours clear amber with a decent off-white head. On the nose we have toffee, dried fruit, grassy/resinous hops, grapefruit, bubblegum, some ammonia hop funk, and a hint of spice. Mouth feel is medium with high carbonation. Taste is toffee, biscuity malts, grassy hops, pine resin, grapefruit, lemon, bubblegum, and orange peel. Very boozy, with some musty undertones. Finish is medium-length, leaving some resinous hops and a touch of bitterness. Pretty average. Nothing stands out, and it’s light on the bitterness for a DIPA.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
A bit desapointing concerning the final bitterness. Otherwise, good taste in introduction. A bit extreme for me.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at Brasseurs du Temps. Hazy amber body with an off-white foamy/creamy head. Aroma is slightly dominated by hoppiness. It carries flowery and caramel hints. Alcohol is well hidden. Its well balanced malty/hoppy taste is rather thin for an Imperial IPA. Ends with a decent bitter finish.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Light amber coloured beer with almost no carbonation and a small off-white head. Strong hoppy and herby hinted aroma. Strong palate. Finish is bitter hoppy, strong hoppy but balanced biterness with some short herby hints and alcoholic touches.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
The beers I have drank from this brewery have all been a bit disappointing. To some extent this one is not an exception but nevertheless it is still a good beer and the best I have had from this brewery. Why a disappointment? Because one expects a bit extra from an Imperial IPA. Nevertheless, it may not be anything special but it is still a good IPA. A decent amount of hop bitterness and a nice malty strong beer taste. Not out of this world but also a pretty decent strong IPA.
