3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle share at Kenny’s 20K, thanks to Ian. As ’La Mascotte Noire’. Black with a small foamy brown head, dotted lacing. Aroma is twiggy, cardboard, some booze. Body is light, tingly carbonation, a bit foamy. Taste is dry, cardboard, varnish, dry and roasty, spice and pepper in the finish. Not pushing my buttons I’m afraid.

The taste is toasted grain, earthy, treacle, fruit cake, wood, cocoa and warming alcohol. Medium body, fine carbonation and chewy mouth-feel. Not a whole lot to it, but not bad overall.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Roasty malts, dry wood, Swartzbier like aromas. Little hops in the aroma, but certainly butter enough. Plus the roasted malts from the aroma that carry over to the well developed taste. Hits my buds just nicely. Dry ending, cacao. Really nice actually! (33cl bottle from Saveur Bière)

Low carbo, soft mouthfeel, medium body and a light creamy texture.
