JorisPPattyn (4497), Antwerpen, Belgium Jun 16, 2003 Hazy, pale orange, greenish shine - medium-thick white head. Herbal, shrubbery nose with a malt-cookie character, honey, some oxidation, and a touch of pepper as well. Bitterish aroma with very sweet - alcoholic underbuild. Bitterish is herbal more than hoppy. Honey-ish flavour again. Mouthfeel seems empty at first, but fills in fully enough. Very prominent alcoholburn, and even syrupy in the end. It's a Bière de Garde! It says so on the label! Seriously, it has little B.W. characteristics - the high ABV and liqueurish-alcoholimpression excepted. And it betters with age - de garde, indeed. jbrus (4178), Delft, Netherlands Oct 1, 2001 Very sweet and good alchohol taste.
