COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
La Moneuse is named for A. J. Moneuse (b. 1768), a famous local bandit and gang leader, and ancestor of the brewers' family. It is a classic "saison" beer by virtue of its strength and its earthy, aged quality. It has a hardy, semi-dry malt character, a fresh but not overpowering hoppiness, abundant yeasty, fruity flavors and a fairly strong, but pleasant and enticing mustiness.

Draft at Max’s. Slightly hazy orange-brown pour with a thin white head. Not much going on in the aroma. Some bready malts. Tastes like a nice french baguette. Grainy with dark toasted malt notes. Very dry and bitter. Slightly tart.

Bottle from Tanakaya. Big barnyard and hop aroma, cat piss, apples, lemon, hay, bread. Deep golden with a high, thick, fine head. Dry, clean, hoppy flavor with underlying honey and bread. Grass, hay, some mint, and rather dry bitterness that lasts a long time. Light body, clean, crisp. Hides the booze well. Good hops. Dig it.

375 ml cork bottle in Germany. Becarful and I was warned but forgot. This stuff explodes when opened. Open over a sink if you can. Pours a orange hazy color. Has a full white head. Aroma is citrus and malt. Taste is mellow and smooth malt and citrus. Palate is light and very nice. Good stuff.

Pours a light orange/yellow with a thick white head. Very good lacing and a fair amount of carbonation. Aroma is on the musty side with hints of lighter fruits and yeast. Flavor is dry and musty with a fruity finish. Medium body and carbonation throughout... very good saison.
