Oct 2, 2006 Brewed for ’Confrerie des Scailtons’ in Bertrix, Belgian Luxembourg, honouring slate miners from the region. 33 cl bottle, 8% vol. alc, ’bbe’ Oct 07. Light amber with a slight haze; fine bubbling, modest but lacy head. Nose initially detects yeast, then orange cake and fruit toffees. Fruity-sweetish taste with the same components as in the nose (especially the toffee/perfumed note), followed by strong spiciness, a good touch of alcohol and a long herbal aftertaste. Velvety and long warming mouthfeel.
