My first ever chestnut beer, I’m not all that thrilled. The sweet tar-like aftertaste dominates the impression. Interesting, but not more. thebeertourist (2793), Oslo, Norway

Flavours are on the sweet side, but the chestnuts do add a complex, bitter side. An extra point for originality. JorisPPattyn (5170), Antwerpen, Belgium
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 9, 2008 Small, but persistent amberish head over dark yellow beer with a greenish shine. Malty, "beery" nose, discreet and slightly herbal aroma. Beautiful, fake "madeirised" flavour (the effect of the chestnuts, as first shown by the Pietra). Nutty, lighty vanilla - good! Creamy mouthfeel, yet refreshing enough. Very good beer, that I liked instantly. More of this, my friend!
