Van de tap @kaapse brouwers. Lekker smaakvol hoppig en bloemige black IPA. Lekkere licht bittere nasmaak.

Donker bruinet weinig schuim. Ruikt hoppig, fruitig en geroosterd. Smaakt goed. Drop, fruitig, laurier.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a pretty, clear ruby red with a light brown head. Dusty, herbal licorice aroma, a little greasy hoppiness. Medium body, medicinal licorice feel, cough syrup, some hops alright but they are not particularly aromatic. Bitterish finish. Decent, and clearly a Black IPA. 240615

330ml bottle from Saveur-Biere.fr. Pours black with frothy tan had. Aroma is herbal hops and roasted malts. Taste is herbal & chocolatey with a slick texture. Not too into the herbal side, but it’s still a fairly decent BIPA.

Pours dark brown with almost no head. Aroma: dark malt, roasted sunflower seeds, herbish hops aroma, some sweet liquor aroma in the background. Generally very complex aroma. Taste: dark malt, chocolate, a bit of (pleasant) soy sauce, hopy mouthfeel with a nice bitter palate. Medium carbonation. ABV very well hidden. Great stuff.

Sampled draft @ “Kaapse Brouwers 1st Anniversary Beer Festival”. Black, little mocha head. Nose is huge on pine resin hops, lovely profile, oily grapefruit peel, light chocolate in the back. Taste is huge pine resin, oily grapefruit peel, wonderful hop profile & big on the hops, followed by very creamy sweet chocolate, complementary roast, sweet malts, light sweet coffee,… Very creamy. Wonderful BIPA. Very happy with what I have had so far from these guys.

On tap, 1dl tasting glass @ Kaapse Brouwers 1st Anniversary Beer Festival 2015, Rotterdam. Body is clear dark brown, head is big, beige, creamy, mostly lasting, excellent lacing. Nose is spicy roasty, flavor is lemon peel, dried fruits, spices, roasty, molasses, licorice. Medium sweet, medium bitter. Finish is long lasting roasty bitter. Full body, oily texture, nearly flat carbonation. Quite easy dessert beer, tasty, interesting, unusual black IPA, good one, but not hoppy enough.
