COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

2013-02-22 - tasting hosted by blankboy, with gregclow, jercraigs and mabel - 375ml clear corked bottle c/o J&K. Lovely and unexpected coppery gold, bright, refractive, a bit oily-looking, nice legs, not much head. Aroma of ripe apple, with skins, hint of white wine - not overly alcoholic (8+). Simple taste - apple, ripe, a touch sour but also a bit sweet, like many, it made me think of baked alaska somewhat. Light body, slick, slightly boozy mouthfeel, finishes quickly and simple - I would like a touch more acidity and complexity, but a solid drinker nonetheless.

[5130-20130222] 375mL clear bottle. Lightly toasted apple skins aroma. Clear, amber body with quick bubbles for a head. Apple sweet sauce flavour. Medium body is super sweet with a tart finish. Delicious! (7/3/8/4/16) 3.8+

2013-02-22. Dark golden amber body, syrupy legs. 3+ Musty fruity apple, notes of skins, hints at caramel and brown sugar. 7++ Flavour is quite sweet, sugary, fruity, bit of musty apple. Syrupy smooth full bodied palate. Simple and has a bit less balancing acidity than some others - but no sooner do I type that then the next sip gains a bunch of acidity. Enjoyable, quite pleasant. Bottle from Marches des Saveur, Montreal, June 2012

Bottle [375ml] shared with HogTownHarry, GregClow, jercraigs & mabel -- c/o j&m. Pours a deep amber with practically no head, just a hint of a bubbly white head. Lovely aroma of sweet apples and a hint of honey. Flavour’s the same, lots of sweet apples along with a hint of honey and some light floral notes. Medium bodied, syrupy mouthfeel. Very nice stuff.

Bottle. Pours amber with a thin head. Sweet fresh apple aroma, with spices and a hint of honey. The flavor has fresh red apples, caramel, a hint of honey and brown sugar, and just a touch of fresh apple tartness. Really good, but just a touch too sweet to be truly great.

jredmond (5673) - Manhattan, New York, USA - APR 13, 2012
Bottle courtesy of Max. A real cidery treat. Pours a thick, amber honey body with no head or lacing, of course. Aroma is sweet, ripened grannies, apple crisp and apple skin. Mouthfeel is syrupy, but not overly so - with notes of apple skins, sweet sugary apple sauce, thick amber honey and apple concentrate.

Bottle at cider tasting(2010). Orange pour with no head. Sweet apple, honey light spice, with a hint of a medicinal aftertaste, aroma is of whole apple, touch of pear and some rose tones.

Cider #1 of cider tasting 2010. Deep golden pour. The nose is intense and loaded with a bright acidic nose. Intensely concentrated and fruity. A little bit of pineapple in addition to the apple sweetness. On the palate the acidity is more muted than the aroma suggests. Chewy and fruity but quite soft. I like the intensity, but the balance leans sweet.

Pouring at Le Mondial des Cidres Glaces. Pours a clear golden amber. Super sweet, somewhat cloying. Sugared apple slices, so sweet. Warm touches of alcohol on the finish. Overall a touch too sweet. Lots of tart acid, but it fell just short of balancing it out and it was all overwhelmed by the sweetness.

A golden cider with lighter apple notes, light chalky notes, smooth. In mouth, a sweet attack with oily mouthfeel, citrus, pulp, nice. Mondial des cidres de glace, Feb. 12 2011.
