The amber colour is the result of brewing a pure variety of two-row spring malt, the addition of roasted wheat along with a careful selection of spices in its recipe. La Ramée is a non-filtered high fermentation beer, re-fermented in the bottle, exceptionally easily to digest, with a slightly peppery flavour. In order to enjoy the fullness of its flavour, we advise you to savour it at a temperature of between 7° and 10°C.

Bottle. Clear orange coloured with a huge off white head. Aroma of caramel, dried fruits and alcohol. Strange flavour of caramel, chemicals and dried fruits. A bit watery. Strange beer.

Bottle, BB 08. VERY thick beer, looks frozen. Cloudy dark orange colour, no head. Very thick, very syrupy mouthfeel, not exactly to my liking. Weak maltiness in flavour, low to medium bitterness. A bit boring and strange.

Dark brown with a white fizzy head. Very deep spicy fruit smell. Rich barky spice and malt flavor, tingles your tongue at the end.

Bottle. A pretty nice specimen and I’m calling it a dubbel over an amber. Bready, cookie maltiness flavor and texture that combines well with the apple/pear sweetness. Assertive hops, some bitterness. Very well balanced and nicely done.

An iced tea colored Brownish brew with a cloudy haze to it. A creamy beige head. Rich malty with plums, yeast, vanilla, oak, loads of goodies in the nose. Yeast and candi sugar, malts, fruit, wood.....yum! A tangy, warming, slightly bitter follow. Quite nice!

(Bottled) Burst right out of the bottle (on my mouse and keyboard, of course). Opaque dark brown color with a smallish but tight, tanned head. Spicy aroma of dried fruit, orange-peel, toffee and burned sugar. Some anise and alcohol, too. Sweetish-malty, a bit sour flavor of dried fruit, rye and quite visible alcohol. Medium-bodied, slightly rough-feeling palate with foamy, but not very high carbonation (since most of it came out when opening the bottle). A spicy and sweetish, yet reasonably complex and easily drinkable brew - if you manage to pour it into a glass.

Amber/Brown beer. Tastes a bit like the Rochefort 8, but less good. Alcoholic finish.

Dark amber colour, small white head a little bit of a sweet and bitter taste. Alcohol is not hidden. (Bottle 33cl)

UPDATED: JUL 5, 2006 (Bottle 33 cl) Very dark amber close to being brown. Quite stable off-white head. Nice flowery nose. The flowers reappear in the aroma together with some indefinable spices and lots of malt. Sweetish yet rather dry. Only a glimpse of hops. A good and rather new example of a great Belgian beer. 140405

(bottle) Clear red amber colour with a creamy off-white head. Fruity & hoppy aroma with some yeast. Light to medium bodied, soft carbonated, medium dry flavour. Slightly sweet malty beginning with a fruity and also spicy finish, not long lasting. A good looking but a bit too thin brew but still tasty.
