Bottled. Pours hazy amber with a huge light brown head. Smells nutty, bread malty, raisins, abit sweet. Tastes roasted malt, clear bitterness, a bit sweet with a similar finish.

Pours a dark brown body with a thick head. Not much of either an aroma or a rich taste. Still a quite nice beer though.

Wittales (611) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - JAN 28, 2014
Appearance was cloudy reddish brown with lasting tannish creamy 2 finger head, rings of lacing. Aromas are spice of anise, licorice, cinnamon, toffee, roasted barley, no alcohol. Taste are slight licorice, roasted bready malts, hints of yeasty dough, cough syrup. Palate was creamy full CO2 with medium- full body, lasting spicy slick finish. A strange take on a winter brew.

750 ml green bottle, Cardinal’s Christmas beer tasting. ABV is 7.3%. Brown colour, large beige head. Lovely malty aroma, with typical notes of Belgian ale yeast, brown kandij sugar, caramel, dark dried fruits and mild spices. The flavour is rich and malty, with the same elements as the aroma, and moderate hops in the finish. Very good.

75cl bottle shared in a Delirium Noel glass. Pours a wonderful dark brown, clear liquid with a moderate head. Carbonation is good and mouthfeel for a (relatively) low alcohol Belgian is exceptional. Aroma and flavour is unlike anything I have previously tried. A very flavoursome beverage which makes you want to keep trying it to pick out all the flavours. Quite a warming drink packed full of fruity, toffeelike notes. Excellent.

75cl bottle, thanks Stijn. Pours chestnut hell red / brown. Lacy beige head. Nose of candi sugar, cara malts and something resin like / pine wood & needles. Aroma of dark chocolate malts, but carried by a gentle carbonation, silky mouthfeel. Almost creamy. Taste is sweet to bitter. Finishes with some alcohol warmth. If spiced, it’s subtle. A very accessible Christmas ale for the spice prone drinker.

0.75l bottle shared with The Tasting Crew. It has a nice medium sized dense almost creamy looking head on top of a clear deep dark ruby red warm body. Looks quite good in the glass. Not to extreme on the nose. I get a nice little malty sweetness with a faint fruitiness touch and a hint of yeast. Quite mellow and mild. It feels light oily in the mouth and the carbonation level is small and prickling on the tongue. Soft watery coffee essence flavored and other than that I have to say that this was surprisingly neutral in the taste. Sugary sweet and light malty, other than that this was quite a neutral tasting (and dare I say a bit boring?) one. 18.12.2013

Bottle, 75cl - Clear copper brown beer with a large beige head. Aroma is malty with notes of caramel, spices, red berries and herbs. Flavor is malty with notes of caramel, yeast, nuts and spices. We’ll balanced and fruity Christmas beer.
