Pours a dark colour that light breaks through the edges. I’ll start from the end, because the after-taste is like red wine. The taste is about varnish and overripe fruits. It’s just too much of shit that we wouldn’t eat.

The Christmas Rulles, with thick, moussy, light beige head and very dark burgundy colour; aroma of elderberries, ginger, brambleberries, chocolate, walnuts, candi sugar, grapefruit, bark, pepper. Dark fruity taste, not sweet, smooth caramelly and very nutty malts, full coffee-like roasted bitterness in the finish, chocolatey, grassy hops, dry. Artisanal Wallonian Scotch.

Een heel lekker kerstbier met een volle, goede smaak zoals het hoort te zijn, het beste dat ik van deze brouwerij al geprobeerd heb

Bottle at Casper is back tasting. Lasting deep amber colour. Bit of puke. Not great bit perfumed. Soap perfumed not for me.

Bottle thanks to Matteo. It pours deep amber with a small light beige head. The nose is earthy, must, wood, mild caramel, must and brown bread. The taste is wood, piney, bitter, varnish, light caramel, must, barnyard and spice with a dry, bitter finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Solid.

Bottle shared at chriso’s. Pours mostly clear amber with a big, creamy light tan head. The nose has some Belgian yeast, toasty bread, caramel, ripe fruits. Medium sweet flavor with further bready malts, ripened fruits, some raspberry jam, mild earth. Medium to full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Sweet finish with plenty more bready malts, ripe fruits, berries, slight toffee, toast. Solid stuff.

Pours a slightly hazy medium brown with a fluffy two finger tan head, great retention, and moderate sticky lacing. Nose is dark fruit, chocolate, brown sugar, cola. Taste starts out sweet and slightly tart, finishes moderately bitter and slightly tart, with a little spiciness. Medium body and slightly slick, with moderate to low carbonation, with a bitter slightly warming finish. Yes, OK, it’s a wintereenmas beer, fine. I have to start paying more attention to expiry dates in my bottle shops - this one had a best before of February 2014 but I bought it in June. There’s no significant hop profile in this, but perhaps that can be attributed to being past its recommended maximum age of eighteen months. That being said, it doesn’t seem off in any way. An inoffensive Belgian dark, malt dominated and easy drinking.

Not what I expected. frothy head with nice lacing and lasts throughout. Smells of fruit, berries, nuts, yeast, candy and metal. Nutty and yeasty ester to begin with, really quite dry and not so sweet but still a bit of spice and a slight heat from booze at the end. Smooth on the palate good carbonation quite a bit lighter than expected as well. Different than most Xmas beers but still pretty good.
