750 ml. bottle. Pours a thick, tiny bubbled, well retained, light beige head, with a bit of lacing, over a clear, reddish amber (SRM 18) body.....nose is light dried fruits including plum, cherry, raisin, with light clove....taste is light toffee/caramel, light dried fruits, hints of dust, finishing dry with a medium bitterness.....mouth feel medium, slightly sticky, mildly astringent, alcohol hidden, carbonation adds a creamy touch. This is a pleasant, nicely balanced, not overly complex beer. It is a lighter take on the style of dark Belgian Strong Ale. BJCP 8/3/14/4/7

Pour@Tilquin English Beer Festival ’15, merci. Luminous amber pour. Classic Belgian composition, defined by aromatic yeast damp and tight, heavily dosed bittersweet malts. Roasted malts in taste again dampened by a yeast bitterness like walnut shell or earsmear, before more pleasing apple and pear compote notes set in. Noticeable fresh, confidently spicy and earthy hops piercing through, which Rulles has made into a trademark. Traditional, with a fresh kick and enjoyable.
