UPDATED: JAN 20, 2009 75 cL bottle. Pours with light brown head. Smell and taste is strong and complex with lots of elements of coffee, chocolate, fruit and spice. Very complex taste palate (but well balanced) that requires you to come back to this several times :)8-4-7-4-16=3.9

From tap at Den tatoverede Enke as La Rulles Noel, 7.2%. Pours dark brown with a huge, dense and tan head. Aroma is solid yeasty and fruity, classic Belgian, with a solid malt base. Spiced and malty flavoured with notes of raisins, prunes and sugar. Dark roasted malt flavours with a the same overripe notes in the flavours that the aroma holds. Yeasty and fruity finish. Nice one.8-4-8-4-15=3.9

Bottled. A deep red beer with a huge brown head. The aroma has notes of sweet fruit, malt, dusty hop, and a bit of oxidation due to the bottle being two years old, but still within the best before date. The flavor is sweet with notes of prunes, dark fruits, oxidation, malt, and some spices, leading to a dry finish. The body is light, but the alcohol leaves a slight burn on the tongue. Maybe better fresh?

Draught at Akkurat, Stockholm. Hazy ruby, small head. Orangey nose with some pine needles and winegum. Medium sweet with clean mouthfeel and medium to full body. Clove and nutmeg accompany almondy yeast. Drying hoppy bitter finish. Flavourful without being sticky, even more so as flavours opens up upon warming. Remains drinkable and elegant.
