4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
bbd August 2013, bottled February 2012.
hazed golden wheat body with a fine white head.
heavily perfumy (honeysuckle).
blueberry, white grape and lime ester and hop-heavy nose.
herbal juniper-like aromas with sometimes-hints of bell pepper.
musty, minerally, doughy yeast.
creamy natural carbonation.
exceptionally smooth and soft-textured malt.
strongly bitter with citrus-focused american hop flavor.
cheese rind and must.
more light-bodied than 5% would suggest, reminds me of the lightness of 3.5% Avril.
a strange and difficult beer to wrap my head around.
strange choice of brutish high-acid American hops for a low-gravity Belgian farmhouse ale.
makes me dance!

Great beer. Taste like a blond beer, with a saison-like dryness and some sour brettiness.

Not bad, just a little bland. I might leave this on the shelf next time. We drank it fast though. I guess that’s a good thing.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle (750 ml). Cloudy golden/orange with a huge white head, medium retention and good lacing. Aroma is grassy with floral/perfume notes, hops, hints of sweetness, yeast spiciness and pils malt. Taste is herbal with floral/perfume presence, a good malt backbone, a touch of spiciness and a sticky grassy finish. Medium body. Medium/good carbonation. Very good Belgian Ale. Tasty and heavily drinkable/refreshing. Good balance and interested flavor profile for the style.

> Uhh..must have had an old bottle...
[ Bottle ][ Appalachian Vintner ][ 750mL ][ Stemless Bordeaux ][ $12? ][ 2/14/14 ]
>> Pours a full haze, cloudy orange with minimal white foam even with vigorous pour. Semi skunky nose thanks to green **** bottle with shallot, savory tomato, celery, and grass/weed. Odd. Taste is bland, some celery, tomato, grassy hoppy, mild sugar. Nice bitterness, not bright though. Fairly drinkable though yeast heavy body without integration.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours bright golden yellow with a soapy off white head. The head dies and leaves a few splotches of lace. The nose is grainy and estery with a slight funk and light citrus fruity aroma. Mild grainy malts and cereals with a light citrus flavour. Overall, a bit of a boring brew.
