3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Nice fresh scent with soft notes of yeast, floral hops, citrus and wheat. The taste is similar with a slight sweetness. The only negative with this beer is that alcohol is becoming too prominent in the finish.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
750 ml bottle@Patricks. Hazy orange body with a big, creamy white head. Aroma is light malty, fruity and spicy. Really nice in aroma in a relatively mild but complex Belgium way. Flavor is light malty, quite fruity, sugar-sweet, spices, some hops and extremely well hidden alcohol. A complex and very nice Belgium beer that most fans of Belgium beer will appreciate and enjoy while others just pass quickly by without understanding the point at all.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
In short: A yeasty/doughy golden strong belgian ale with spicy hops. Ok.
How: Bottle 750ml. Consumed approximately 1 after bottling
The look: Cloudy golden orange body topped by a medium off-white head with medium retention
In long: Yeasty nose with floral-perfumy and spicy notes. Taste is very round and smooth with doughy and creamy malts, some caramel, bubblegum, sweetened canned fruits, a bit of banana puree and marmalade, a good amount of herbal spicy hops. The spiciness builds up and by the end of the bottle it becomes a bit too much and even evokes a mix of powdered ginger and cayenne pepper. A light alcohol bite at the end but overall the 10% is very well hidden. Lively carbonation with a very fluffy body. Sweetness is well covered by the intrinsic spiciness. Except for the spiciness I’d say that this is overall an inoffensive Belgian strong golden ale that remains quite drinkable because it is very straightforward. Not bad but this is pretty much my least favorite La Rulles so far. This is rating #4600 for me, another milestone, thanks to my many trade partners, my tasting partners and all other beer friends. Yet, it saddens me to think that no matter how many ratings I enter, no matter how many people I meet on this site, no matter how many ratebeer awards I get, no matter how many trades I make, no matter how popular I become on this site, the number of people attending my funeral will mostly depend on the weather.
