Suttree (2702), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Jan 1, 2008 Cloudy orange, nice sized white head. Spicy, clean, soapy, slightly fruity aroma. Nicely full bodied. Mellow citrus - lemon, lime, mango, - mixes with a heavy white eine flavor. Nice herbal notes dry it out at the finish. SDalkoholic (1186), Chula Vista, California, USA Dec 30, 2007 750ml bottle from Holiday Wine Cellar. Creates a large buxom white foam on top of a burnt gold hue. The nose is a mild serving of yeast and grainy malt but overall is very subtle and calm. The flavor is astringent with a bold metallic taste and notice of grain and malt. Not that flavorful, but the lively carbonation is enough to keep me drinking the remainder of the bottle. DenverLogan (421), MileHi, Colorado, USA Dec 28, 2007 Apricot color; small head. Amber malt aroma and taste, with nice amount of candy sugar and flavors of powder sugar, subtle cardamon and cloves, citrus, burnt caramel. I’ve had this a few times in the bottle and on tap in Philadelphia and always find it right up there with the smoothest tripels. WisconsinBeer (514), St Paul, Minnesota, USA Dec 28, 2007 Hazy yellow, heavy sediment. Decent foamy head and heavy lacing. Yeast, cloves, mild spice, bananas, and warm fresh bread are the prominent flavors. Alcohol is well hidden. Soft bodied. Tripplebrew (486), Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA Dec 28, 2007 Pours a very dense gold with quite a bit of white head that quickly dissipates to a bit of lace. A fairly thick medium body. The aroma is pretty weak. Flavor is yeast and cloves. Fairly mild tripel. tomciccateri (496), Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA Dec 26, 2007 Pours a dense gold with a lasting white head and lace. Medium body with a pronounced sweet flavor balance. tronraner (1906), Maryville, Tennessee, USA Dec 21, 2007 750 mL bottle. Pours cloudy orange with nice white head. The aroma is quite spicy with plenty of yeast notes, maybe some grass and orange. The flavor has an assertive spicy yeast character, under which lies a soft, honeyish malt character. Banana and clove are minimal, but subtle, nondescript spices and fruits bounce around. The finish is slightly dry and zesty. This is a pretty good beer. Mungo (2474), Southampton, Hampshire, England Nov 28, 2007 Bottle from Bitter Virtue. Great combination of peachy summery fruit and zesty hop aroma with some spicy yeast in the background. Soft fruity sweet malts with a decent level of bitterness and a nice tangy finish. Smooth creamy body. Lovely beer and didnt seem to suffer from all the yeast that was kicked up when it was opened.
