JoeinUccle (902), Brussels, Belgium Mar 30, 2007 On tap @ Delirium. An excellent tripel that remains underrated. Golden color with a big, lasting head. Heavy hops in the nose and nicely bitter flavor, which also has some wheaty elements. Some orange and spices, but understated and the hops are in control. Highly recommended for all fans of the style. smcd (366), USA Mar 11, 2007 This is a very tasty beer. Spicy hot aromas leap out at you, nearly overtaking the more subtle hints of coriander and citrus. Very refreshing, not overly cloying, and drinkable despite the relatively high alcohol. Again, a wonderfully spicy hoppiness permeates this one, start to finish, and is really quite surprising. One that you can find on draft -- and well worth the search, in my opinion, as it is so much livelier off a good tap than its sibling bottle version (which lacks for nothing else). Svesse (2597), Hässelby, Sweden Mar 3, 2007 (Draught at Akkurat, Stockholm, 3 March 2007) Dark amber colour, slightly cloudy, with brief white head. Very spicy, fruity nose with citrus and yeasty notes. Fruity, spicy taste with notes of yeast, orange peel, grapefruit, clove and lots of spicy hops in a long finish. Lovely! ante (2904), Stockholm, Sweden Mar 3, 2007 Draught at Akkurat, Stockholm. Hazy dark golden , low white foam. Nice oily aroma of orangey and leafy hops with estery undertones. Nice interplay between juicy fruity malts and leafy and grassy hops in the flavour. Aromatic finish of flowers, Seville oranges with dryish undertones of wet grass. CapFlu (3480), Victoria, British Columbia, Canada Feb 28, 2007 (750ml bottle) Purchased through the Bieropholie Private imports. Pours a lasting white webbing of head atop an amber, tiny sediment-filled body. Nose of very orangy citrus hops, cream and tin. Flavour is mildly hoppy tart, honey lager and medicinal syrup. Thin bitter finish - not what I expected. I wanted more malt and more oily texture. GreatLibations (1440), Last Supper, Arizona, USA Feb 12, 2007 Pours a hazey, slighty tawnied honey color w/ a full, semi creamy froth. Aroma is slightly skunky w/ malted banana spice and citrus rind. Medium nectar w/ ample residual effers creating a soft and creamy texture. This brew lives up to its genre. Strongly flavored w/ big banana malts. I catch a glimpse of citrus rind hops, clove spice, vanilla, banana gum , and honeycomb. Finish is long on flavor and bittered w/ peach pit. A nice specimen. henry3r (586), Wichita, Kansas, USA Feb 11, 2007 The 25.4 ounce bottle poured a slightly hazy amber-orange colored beverage with an average sized white creamy head that was mostly diminishing but left good lacing on the glass. Because it is bottle conditioned, there were also some small particles floating about. The aroma was sweet, fruity and spicy with notes of grape, pear, coriander and pepper. The body was medium with lively but soft carbonation and a smooth creamy texture. The flavors start off lightly sweet with the sweetness gradually replaced with a light acidic tartness through the long finish. There is also a nice alcohol warmth at the end. jimhilt (1664), Bow, New Hampshire, USA Feb 10, 2007 Pours a three-finger smooth cream head that fades slowly to a thin layer leaving some lace. Almost cloudy amber color. Malty, alcohol nose. Strong carbonation and medium bodied. Starts semi-sweet, high ABV is here, dry finish $8.99 for a 750ml bottle from Tully’s Beer & Wine Wells, Me.
