redlem (1155), Illinois, USA Dec 8, 2006 Hazy golden ale. Spicy pepper, yeast aroma. Pepper taste somewhat watery, light body. blankboy (3165), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Dec 8, 2006 Bottle shared with HogTownHarry, biegaman, mds, Radek Kliber, tupalev & the rest of the gang -- my bottle courtesy of Secret Santa. Pours a cloudy yellow-orange with sediment and an average size lasting white head. Sweet aroma of Belgian yeast, spices and sweet malt -- nice! Flavour of yeast, sweet malt, fruit, spices, hops, sugar and a light bitter finish. Alcohol pretty well hidden. Medium bodied. Pretty good. HogTownHarry (3922), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada Nov 29, 2006 Bottle (750ml). Shared with blankboy, biegaman, mds, Radek Kliber, tupalev and others, blankboy’s bottle. Poured cloudy orange-yellow with an average frothy white head. Dry, yeasty, sweet malt, spicy, nicely complex. Tastes pretty much the same, just fruitier, I get pears and apples, with some bitter yeast in the finish. Pretty standard tripel body - soft, on the light side, somewhat alcoholic and soft - nice finish. glkaiser (1150), Seattle, Washington, USA Nov 25, 2006 On tap at Uber a while ago...Slightly cloudy golden. Subtle belgian yeast taste with good sweetness. Hints of pineapple. maeib (4683), Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, England Nov 19, 2006 Bottled. A clear orange coloured beer with a large off-white head which dissipates all too quickly. The aroma is yeast, spicy and peppery. The taste is yeasty and spicy. The hops come through reeally nicely though with some orange flavours. Clean tasting and good alcohol levels. A classy tripel. frizzzzle (64), Overland Park, Kansas, USA Nov 6, 2006 Pours a darkish blonde, only slightly hazy. Moderate foamy head that lingers. Scent is bready, with candied malt and a marked alcohol sharpness. The flavor is quite nice. Overall, it’s clean and fresh, and very sweet. As in the nose, the flavor is noticeably alcoholic. Mouthfeel is foamy and a bit prickly, as a tripel should be. The finish is drier than the flavor, with the same amount of warmth. This beer isn’t as complex as the best of the style, but it’s nice to drink. I’d definitely do it again. aracauna (2357), Georgia, USA Oct 8, 2006 Pours a nice amber with a tall, sticky cream head that sticks to the glass thickly. Heavily perfumed with fruits and phenols, there’s even a light unroasted nuttiness in there as well. Fairly sweet body and a bit of heat in there from the alcohol. thornecb (1737), Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA Oct 4, 2006 Pours amber into a tulip. Tan conglomerate head leaves chunky lacing as it recedes. Bread, earth and hay aromas. Medium bodied, with front-to-back sweet caramel turning to a dry, slightly bitter lasting finish.
