nothing spectacular. not a lot of flavor. some fruit in aroma, a little hops. no alcohol flavor, but not much candy sugar at all (super not american tripel).

Hazy, dull orange-straw body with a soft, downy white head and sagging lace. Nicely fragrant aroma of orange and rose petal esters, light spice, and sweet bread. Rich and floral, full flavor of chamomile and coriander with some warming menthol and clove phenols plus alcohol in the finish. Moderately bitter and slightly numbing with a semi-dry mouthfeel. A nice, distinct tripel overall.

Awesome triple, cloudy golden appearance, off-white head with great lacing around the glass, spicy nose full of citrus, grapefruit & yeast, full-bodied, very drinkable, smooth body & flavors, notes of lemongrass in the flavors along with citrusy hops & bread, very smooth finish with more spicy hops & delicate malt

Thanks to Degarth for this one. Pours deep coppery/dark straw colored with 2-finger off-white head. Aroma of floral spices, some hopcit, some yeasty cobwebby malts. The flavor is spicy and floral, with a solid hop and citrus presence backed up well by the malt. Well balanced and very enjoyable.

Golden body with a light red tint, duickly diminishing white head. Typical Belgian aroma, yeast and light fruits are most present. Tast is very interesting, a combination of a Belgian and an IPA. Belgian yeast dominate, but not without a heavy hop accent. Ending is warming with some wheat presence.

Bottle from Lubière: Poured a light yellow ale with a huge foamy white head with perfect retention. Aroma of floral malt with grassy hops and light spices. Taste is refreshing with some grassy and floral malt, some fruit sweetness and light spicy finish. Body is just above average and alcohol is well hidden. This beer would have gained by not being so filtered IMO. Still a great triple and a very good thirst quencher.

(05.17.06) One pint 9.4 oz green bottle from DiCarlo’s, Mundelein, IL. 8.4% ABV. Unfiltered, unpasteurized, bottle conditioned. Poured hazy orange with large white head. Some white particulates. Soft carbonation. Fruity sweet malt aroma. Medium bodied tripel that starts with light malt sweetness and intense fruity spicy flavors. Some sharpness (carbonation) in the mouth. Finished with light fruity and spice flavors. Yum. Smooth, rich and complex flavor character, full of fruit and spice.

On tap.
Pours a clear, pale straw yellow with plenty of streaming bubbles that form very little head. Aroma suggests grassy hops and some candy sugar. Odd bubble-gum flavor with some spicy but not particularly bitter hops. Thin, bubbly palate. Why folks serve otherwise bottle-conditioned beers out of standard kegs is a mystery to me. For that matter, it’s also a mystery why brewers that should know better put keg versions of their bottle-conditioned beers on the market. My guess is this beer would have been much, much better served in bottle form.
