Bottle. Fruity coriander yeasty aroma. Triple stereotype flavor. Medium palate, spicy. Semi translucent with right full head and lace. Overall unmemorable but quite quaffable (isn’t that the definition of the mid 3 range for me?)

750 ml capped bottle, undated, from Bello Vino in Ann Arbor, MI (Dec 2005). Cellar temperature sampling in a Chouffe tulip. The gorgeous snowy meringue head spatters thick gouts of lacing in the glass as it slowly descends from its glorious height to rest more comfortably atop its luminous spun-gold body....the vapors wafting out are noticeable across the room as light flowery sweetness; on closer inspection the nose discovers sharp sour bread, honey, an ever-so-light touch of butterscotch, and baked apples, glorious.....the tongue struggles to compete in its raptures with its loftier brother but fails, coming up only with lightly alcoholic sugar cookies immersed in thick pils malt, a touch of coriander sprinkled atop the rich mixture and a sour, long finish with a slightly cottony texture....going down, the last pleasures are reserved for the throat, which is happy enough but hardly overjoyed by the sticky liqueurish goodness, buoyed by an herb-infested ocean of grains....the mind in sum is a bit disappointed, the entrance was so majestic and the dance itself and recessional, though not pedestrian, surely earthbound. A noble effort, not quite with the makings of royalty.

Draught @ Delirium Café, Bruxelles: Golden coloured. Unclear. Dense off white head. Wheaty nose. Coriander, yeast and sweetness. Flavour is yeasty, light spiced and has some fruitsweetness. Alcohol is notable. Is quite smooth but a little thin bodied. Ends on sweet and spiced note.

Bottle. Hazy golden-bronze color with a nice white head. Fruity, grassy aroma with some dull malt. Herbal, banana, yeasty, fruity flavor (lemon and apricot). Complex. Flavor lingers in the back of the mouth and finishes dry. There’s a nice flowery/herbal quality to it.

A very tasty belgian ale. As a frequently note in my beers, the crazy thick sweetness of some belgians turns me off, but this one works well. Call me picky. Regardless, I have no complaints about this beer. Actually suprised this isnt higher rated, but i guess a mellow belgian beer doesnt get much attention.

750ml bottle. Sweet, flowery aroma, some honey and doughy yeast apparent, along with lighter touches of perfume, leafy, herbal hop, peach, white grape and light, grainy malts. Deep golden amber color, clear, with a lasting, frothy white head and strands of lacing coating the glass. Flavor profile is rather mellow for a beer of this strength, sweet and lightly fruity to start, some light citrus noted, thereafter seeing an influx of spicy hop flavor and bitterness that carries through to the finish, which also features some light, peppery alcohol notes, gentle acidity and dusty yeast. Mouthfeel is smooth, warming and light, body is medium-full. Enjoyable.
