Aroma was sweet candy and apricots. Bit of nuttiness emerged as it warmed. Flavors matched overall, although as it warmed a faint trace of moldy hay emerged as well. Not bad by any means, but just didn’t do anything for me. Probably better than my numbers indicate, but I just couldn’t justify raising any of them. PhillyBeer2112 (2086), Orange Park, Florida, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 19, 2005 Labelled tripel, but kinda saisonish. Cloudy golden, large foaming head. Enticing aroma, one that invites repeated sniffing. Perhaps some coriander or others spice, honeyed malts, light phenols, overall fairly complex nose. Somewhat sweet up front, giving way to a light banana-ish phenolic middle. Finish is herbal and spicy, with lingering notes of possible black pepper or coriander. Semi-dry to dry. Smooth and quite drinkable. IMtheOptimator (1161), Bethel, Connecticut, USA

Taste is malty sweetness, ctirusy hops and blended with a touch of alcohol. Dry finish. Nicely done. BennyTicklez (621), USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 12, 2005 pours light orange with a somewhat creamy white head. Aroma is spicy and sharp to the typical Belgian triple style. Taste is spicy orange, clove and other spices. Creamy mouthfeel somewhat comes through on the end. Alcohol taste is also very present in this beer as well. Sit on it for a year maybe? This beer is good now, possible great later skortila (2903), Bunnik, Netherlands

Taste is sweet, spicy, yeasty and citric. Smooth palate. Quite a good brew. Dickinsonbeer (3449), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 4, 2005 750 ml bottle. Pours a nice slightly hazy gold with a decetn head and lace. Aroma is more spicy and phenolic compared to some other tripels at the tasting (Dulle Teve, Westmalle, Alllagash, St Bernardus, Golden Monkey & Karmeliet). Flavor is moderately sweet, but balanced out with a good amount of earthy and spicy hops along with the phenolics and spices. Finishes a little light and dry, but overall pretty smooth. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 3, 2005 Very good, but a disappointment given all the praise I’ve heard for this beer. Aromaless, with malty herbal flavour. I’d like to compare this side by side with Guldenberg. The Rulles Blond seemed to me to be a greater achievement than this. biz82 (1328), austin, Texas, USA
