IMtheOptimator (1161), Bethel, Connecticut, USA Jul 13, 2005 Poured cloudy yellowish orange with a fizzy off-white head. Citrus nose. Taste is malty sweetness, ctirusy hops and blended with a touch of alcohol. Dry finish. Nicely done. BennyTicklez (621), USA Jul 12, 2005 pours light orange with a somewhat creamy white head. Aroma is spicy and sharp to the typical Belgian triple style. Taste is spicy orange, clove and other spices. Creamy mouthfeel somewhat comes through on the end. Alcohol taste is also very present in this beer as well. Sit on it for a year maybe? This beer is good now, possible great later skortila (2880), Bunnik, Netherlands Jul 10, 2005 Spicy nose with citrus. Hazy, orange coloured with a lasting, medium head. Taste is sweet, spicy, yeasty and citric. Smooth palate. Quite a good brew. Dickinsonbeer (3434), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA Jul 4, 2005 750 ml bottle. Pours a nice slightly hazy gold with a decetn head and lace. Aroma is more spicy and phenolic compared to some other tripels at the tasting (Dulle Teve, Westmalle, Alllagash, St Bernardus, Golden Monkey & Karmeliet). Flavor is moderately sweet, but balanced out with a good amount of earthy and spicy hops along with the phenolics and spices. Finishes a little light and dry, but overall pretty smooth. Hugh (129), Breda, Netherlands Jul 3, 2005 Very good, but a disappointment given all the praise I’ve heard for this beer. Aromaless, with malty herbal flavour. I’d like to compare this side by side with Guldenberg. The Rulles Blond seemed to me to be a greater achievement than this. biz82 (1328), austin, Texas, USA Jul 2, 2005 On tap at Eulogy Belgian Tavern. Pale yellow with a thin head and good lace. Relatively low carbonation. Light candi sugar and caramel aroma with some alcohol. Flowery, caramel flavor. A bit thin in body. Some noticable hops and bitterness. Alcohol apparent. MaxPower (961), St. Louis, Missouri, USA Jun 25, 2005 750 ml green bottle with no cork just a cap. Pours a deep hazy bright golden orange with a huge white frothy lasting head that leaves a sticky lace in my glass. Fruity and spicy cardboard aromas. Fruity buttery lemon and spicy yeasty flavors. Full bodied with lively carbonation and a crisp mouthfeel, finishes spicy and kind of sweet, alcohol is hardly noticed, a great triple Mads Langtved (2246), Copenhagen K, Denmark Jun 23, 2005 Draught. Orange cloudy. Fruity citrus nose. Sweet yeasty finish. Banana flavour. An average tripel.
