SledgeJr (2957), Omaha, Nebraska, USA Jan 1, 2009 In the 750 mL bottle from Beertopia. Pours a hazy rich golden color with a medium ivory head. The aroma is perfume honey and fruit. The taste is extremely sweet with lots of cane sugar and honey. A mild tartness and hidden bitterness finished the beer. Overall it is just too much sweetness. ogivlado (3036), Zagreb, Croatia Dec 30, 2008 Bottled(750ml). -Pours a pale amber color with medium sized white head and flowery nose. Lively carbonation. Malty, yeasty and fruity with notes of hops and spices (mostly coriander). Dry fruity finish. mikalooch (159), , New Jersey, USA Dec 27, 2008 Pours a translucent hoeny color with a decent head. Aroma is yeast, banana, and spice. Tastes fruity, banana and pineapple with bread and malt. tingly mouthfeel, finishes with a touch of bitterness. Very good. kyzr (1120), Belgrade, Montana, USA Nov 27, 2008 Pours a thick gold with small head. Big yeasty nose with fruit. Flavor is thick with malt and yeast that just coats the mouth, with a touch of pineapple that climbs out towards the end. Nice creamy texture. Dedollewaitor (3625), Odense, Denmark Nov 27, 2008 75cl bottle @ VinensVerden, Odense. Pours unclear amber/orange with a creamy head & lacings. Fruity orange, yeast & hops. Good smooth mouthfeel. Very fresh with orange fruit, a bit of spices (coriander) & hops dominating. Nice! Homebrewerguy (284), Oil City, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 21, 2008 Pours golden with a nice head and lacing, I didn’t swirl the yeast so it was pretty clear with good carb, aroma is malts and sugar, taste is a nice combo of malt, yeast and hop character, a bit thin IMO but I suppose the sugar does that. 8.4% alcohol is well hidden. Very nice beer OldMrCrow (1179), Seattle, Washington, USA Nov 3, 2008 2006 bottle tasted Nov 2008.
Pours a lovely gold but with tons of suspended particles, not quite in des Rocs territory but otherwise pretty far out there on the scale. Looks like it might be a bit flat from the pour, but plentiful carbonation erupts in small bubbles on the tongue; just right. Soft citric aroma, slightly grassy, maybe some honey. Lovely mellow flavor, lots of lemon zest, some peach, gently sweet, honey malts, not intensely spicy, just laid back and really enjoyable to drink. After 2+ years, relatively little of the floral hops that other reviewers have noted; I should try this one fresh as well. Quite an enjoyable and well crafted tripel, probably somewhat underrated on this site. smith4498 (829), Miami, Florida, USA Nov 1, 2008 Pours hazy golden orange with off white head. Aromas of bread dough, spices and slight hoppiness. Sweet with spices, yeast, citrus and hops. Reminds me Chouffe Houblon but not quite as good. Medium body with lively carbonation. A pretty good beer.
