Bottle, 12C. Amber with a fluffy off-white head that collapses to a coat that lasts. Aroma of apples, pears, light toffee, musty dough, pepper, balsamic vinegar. Very overcarbonated mouthfeel (second glass poured from unstoppered bottle poured with a huge head but then was fine). Fruit and caramel sweetness, applish tartness, modest bitterness, very dry indeed with some spices and a slight bretty smack at the end. Can see great from here. Rustic and (carbonation issues aside) good.

375 ml bottle at Prime Steak Restaurant, Sydney, on October 20, 2015. Batch LS230078. BB May 2016.
Hazy brown color, teal to reddish head (could be the lighting in the restaurant) with some lacing. Slight tart, grainy, vinous, spicy scent. Cream, malty, red berries taste. Tart (slight), malty, cream aftertaste. Medium to smooth mouthfeel, medium bitterness.

On tap at The Archive for Armakeggon. Served with a truffle oil hard cheese, this was delicious, complex, a touch smokey, very nice.

Bottle from Plonk. clear brown pour with off white head. Saison yeast aromas with brown malt, hint of chocolate. Carbonation could be a bit higher. Nice interesting saison.

From an elegant heavy-glassed 375ml bottle with BBD of 10/6/16. Red-brown pour with a large dense tan head that lasts. The toasty sweet caramel malts definitely trump the farmhouse/saison components in this beer on the nose and palate but the elements are still there and this is quite subtly complex. Notes of dark fruits and yeasty spices in there with a nice dryish finish. Slick medium body with lively carbonation.

Pours an amazing deep ruby with white lacing. Aroma of sour cherries, lemons, bananas, hint of pineapple. Flavour is thick with cherry, raspberry, sugary caramel and faint clove. Great farmhouse ale but I expect nothing less from La Sirene. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

From bottle. Not a huge amount on the nose. Pours amber/red. Quite full bodied with a little spritz. Not as complex as I’d hoped, with less of the rural flavours. Seems to sit in an awkward middle ground stylistically. Definitely the weakest beer I’ve had from these usually stellar brewers.

It doesn’t pour as red as some other reviews are saying, it’s more an orange yellow, has a really nice thin lasting tan head. It’s only lightly sour, refreshing with a bit more malt flavour.

Incredible. A good solid red with farmhouse complexity. Good roastiness, maybe a little too malt-sweet. Sourness not too over the top, just a touch of sour cherry, lemon. A dusty pepperiness. Could stand to be a little nore bitter.

From 425 ml bottle. Pours a clear cherry red with some orange highlights and a thick lasting offwhite head. Aromas of lemon, vinegar, tart fruit and a light sweetness. The taste starts out with biscuit malt before a prickly tart note with fresh cherry, balsamic, lemon zest and pepper. That carries pretty much all the way to the end. Lingering zesty finish with a slight cherry aftertaste. Unusual but good.

Pours a dark, fizzy red with a vibrant, fluffy pink tinged head. Nose is lightly tart and vinegary, a bit grassy. Flavor is malt forward. There’s some red berries, molasses, cola, caramel, slight noble bitterness on the finish. Not heaps of funk or yeastyness, though there’s a bit of musty dusty flavor to it. Flavor is perhaps only very slightly tart on the finsih, but oddly reminds me of Rodenbach without the sourness. Maybe a little overcarbonated, medium body. Pretty good.
