Bottle - Sweet, flowery with some stone notes. Cloudy gold with a decent white head. Light sweet and grassy. Very effervescent.

Bottle at Max & Jess’s Taco Party! Pours a hazed gold with a thin white head. Musk and yeast on the nose, a soft bit of citrus. Medium bodied, spicy citrus, tart and bright. Musk and yeast into the finish.

An Australian Saison, what a surprise to see this in Brugge.
I loved it.
Misty golden body (it had been poured a few times before I got my hands on it) with a white covering, I managed to get just under a half-pint into my glass: didn’t want to appear greedy did I?
Yeasty farmyard; proper Saison smells in other words. Sour yeastiness in the mouth along with a sweet undertone that blend together giving a truly memorable experience and a wonderful taste.
So different to anything else at the bottle swap: some cracking brews, but this and the Ommegang 3 Philosophers really stood out for me in their classiness, even though they are worlds apart in styles.

375ml bottle. Very frothy with a mountainous head of compact white foam above a hazy apricot coloured beer. Tart sour aroma with a flavour to match. Very lively and zingy in the mouth and it certainly wakes up the taste buds.

Frothy white head. Very like yellow color, almost white. Very light dry nose with lots of funk, pepper and lemon. The mouth is very light with lots of ton pepper notes, fairly hoppy, very dry. Nice lingering hoppy mouth with horse blanket, funk and pepper. Fantastic. Rarely see a new world this level.

Excellent saison. Pours out a mildly cloudy golden with abundant fluffy head. Head sustains throughout. Flowery, savory aroma, taste is hay, grass, meadow and some coriander. Mildly savory finish. Could be straight out of Belgium.

UPDATED: OCT 7, 2014 Bottle from Mane Liquor. Loving the label. Cool seeing this style come out of Australia more regularly now as well. The nose is very reminiscent of that familiar yeasty note which comes from Dupont, but again, like bluebetty said, reminds me a lot of a tripel on the nose and in the taste. A touch of sweetness works well in this. A little hoppier than the traditional belgian counterpart but its nice. Spices and lemon morange mingle nicely. Very refreshing with a spot on dry finish. Great work

Bottle. Nice stuff. Dry, aroma is good, straw, cherry, bit of booze, grainy. Nice.

UPDATED: OCT 19, 2014 [12/11] Not clear where this is actually brewed, but I’d guess somewhere near Northcote. Bottle. Straw-coloured with a large white head. Aroma of sweet and some tart apples, earth, vanilla, cloves, slight blue cheese. Taste is moderately sweet with vibrant spices Peaches, apples, light sugars, coriander, vanilla, cardamon pods, white pepper. The taste is less rustic than suggested by the aroma. Finish is dry and spicy. Perhaps a little overcarbonated. Good. [3.6]
[6/12] Second batch. Modest head. Lower carbonation, a little less sweetness. Hard to say whether there’s there’s more tartness or just that it stands out more. Dry with spicy bitterness at the finish. Really convincing stuff. [3.8]
[3/14] Batch 131201. Gold with an inch of white head that hangs in awhile. Aroma of hay, apples, cardamon, cloves, nectarines. Doughy and (too) cheesy yeast notes. A mix of sweet, tart and bitter with again the tartness a little more prominent. Lingering floral and spicy notes.
[10/14] This one is an inch of beer and 5 of head, so the idea that they’ve got things down pat is not travelling so well. Still fine under the froth though.
