COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
La Socarrada is a "gastro-ale," or food-pairing golden ale made with only, water, malts (pils/amber), hops, yeast, rosemary, and rosemary honey. La Socarrada pours a beautiful golden-amber color with a light, white, non-persistant head. The nose is wonderfully appetizing, filled with rosemary, rosemary-honey, and a light bread-like quality. The taste is full of rosemary, rosemary honey, and fruity characteristics along the lines of pear, apple, and fig. There is also a distinct gingery bite as well as a light note of black pepper. The body is both crisp and pleasantly dry. It is recommended to be served around 45° in a white wine glass or snifter.

Bottle courtesy of ajax25g, gracias amigo! Pours hazy to cloudy yellow color, massive fluffy white head. Aroma of herb garden, barnyard, dust, attic. Taste is heavy spice, to the point of being unpleasant.

Bottle. Pours a very dark, murky amber-gold with a high, rocky, cream-colored head. This goes beyond hazy -- there are actual chunky bits in the beer, the largest of which is about the size of a pinhead. (Nothing like beer you have to floss afterwards.) The nose is huge and grassy, with massive rosemary and lemon notes and light floral overtones. There’s some honeyed sweetness on the front of the palate, but the twin clean herbal bites of hops and rosemary soon clear it out; a little stone fruit finishes things off, but mostly the herbal/acid tones remain with a long, dry, warm finish. Despite the appearance and the omnipresence of the rosemary, I like this -- but it’s definitely not an everyday beer. Now I want some garlic-studded pork loin.

Draught. Creamy white good mostly lasting head. Dark yellow colour. Light malty and light hoppy aroma. Moderate bitter flavor. Ginger very present. Average moderate bitter finish. Oily palate. When i read it was made with roemark it kind of makes sence. Strange brew.

Great beer. Paired very well with our wild caught Salmon. The Rosemary really comes out as it warms. Recommend drinking at 50-60 degrees. Great food pairing beer! Would be hard to drink by itself without food though. Had a nice 2 finger head in my Stone snifter. Aroma was ok but the flavor was just what was expected. Overall happy with this beer and would recommend as a food pairing beer only. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Huele a romero y sabe a romero, no hay mucho más que decir, es una curiosidad pero no tiene mucho interés repetir.

750 ml. bottle. Pours a small head that fades soon, but there’s a lace all the time until you finish. Sediments are cre clearly visible. Smells like walking through a forest: pine, rosemary, lavender, eucalyptus... Fresh and creamy palate, dry finish and taste again of forest, rosemary dominates but with notes of almost of the plants you can think. Exceptional, IMO.
