Drank on tap (12 oz) at the brewpub on July 19, 2015. Hazy blonde, small head. Smoked meat and salmon aroma, slightly salty. Dry smoky malt taste, with bitter citrus notes, nice smoky finish. A good summer smock beer!

(Rating #6394)

A hazed blonde weizen with a thin creamy white head. In aroma, nice mix of fruity banana, mango and light bacon, peaty, nice. In mouth, a nice sweet banana malt with notes of smoked herring, nice and sweet. On tap at brewpub, Oct. 2012.

On tap at the brewpub. Hazy yellow pour with frothy white head. Aroma is more on the weizen side according to me, lots and lots of banana, some clove and a hint of smoke that is definitely present, but is playing second fiddle. It does not stay subdued for long however, as it explodes in the mouth - strong smoky flavor with light wheatiness, somewhat of a clove-y finish. Palate is really heavy, not super drinkable. Not really my style either.
