sample from a freshly opened bottle at festibière de québec. pours dirty dark golden orange without a head. grainy, toasted cereals, bit of nuts, spices - very spicy in fact, hint of maple and lactose-like sweetness, dust and dirt, along with metal notes. average carbonation, light body, short grassy-herbal finish. DP.

Bouteille 660ml.

Originally rated January 2007. Purchased at the Dépanneur À-Tout-Prix in Laval, Quebec. Pours a hazy caramel-amber-brown colour with a nice big beige head. Sediments are all over. Good retention with some creamy lacing all around. Very nice. Hoppy nose with some caramel malt and green apples. Watery mouthfeel with slight creaminess. The taste is mild with some toffee, hop, and light smoke in the aftertaste. Much better brew than their witbier I had last night. Must be one of their good batches.

Clear amber and copper coloured body with a very bright ruby glow and a nice thick tan head - two centimetres tall. Aroma of fresh malt, light apples and caster sugar sweetness and a touch of hops near the end. Light-bodied; Mild malty flavour with some odd apples and sour notes behind with little other complexity. Aftertaste shows a touch of malt, some mold or funk for body and some sugars near the end - pretty bad finish, actually. Overall, not good at all, but not as bad as the scores seem. Still, not a good one to bring back all the way home - so if you read some of these ratings before bringing beers back, just don’t pick this one up and waste space in your suitcase/car/etc. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Au Coin Duluth in Montreal, Quebec, Canada on 04-December-2010 for CA$3.99 sampled at home in Washington on 15-April-2011.

Bouteilel 650 ml. 5%. Couleur brune voilée, mousse beige fugace. Arôme de malt caramel...arôme assez léger. Douce, aqueuse, notes de caramel et malt. Correct

The body is an attractive fog of ruby and amber, with only a small bit of head. Faint malt and tin aroma. Flavour is a weak mix of malt and grass with an odd cloying mouthfeel. Another crappy Canadian rousse, and my quest for a good one continues.

Bottle: Poured a clear amber color ale with a bubbly head with OK retention. Taste is quite bland with light caramelized notes and unrefined grain. Taste is also a weird mix between some unrefined grainy malt base with some light caramelized notes. Body is a bit light with OK carbonation. Nothing too special happening here.
