clear dark yellow, scant head, sweet malt aroma, good body, light sweet malt flavor, hint of bitterness in the finish that eventually turns into spices, would not have guessed it to be a Belgian style

I would like to rerate this beer.
Mike4686 (120), Bayonne, New Jersey, USA Aug 22, 2007 11.2oz pours a hazy brownish color/very dark golden, large bubbly head, lots of carbonation, sweet fruit taste, nice mouthfeel, smoother than other trappist ales of the same style. benhwilkinson (24), Little Soudley, Shropshire, England Aug 17, 2007 bottle.A little hazy.Blond in color with a small head.Sweet tasting with hints of fruit and a little citrus. emotv (331), Izmir, Turkey Aug 15, 2007 Updated: Nov 20, 2007Buy it from the gift shop from Brussels, Tasted on good trappistte glass, Head is dissapiring quickly, Sweet but not so sweet. Easier to drink than other trappistes, nice beer. TheGrandMaster (1848), Auckland, New Zealand Aug 14, 2007 Bottle, was very lively, pouring a hazy gold with a filmy white head. A strong yeast aroma with lots of fruit and just a touch of spice. Quite a creamy palate, more spice in the flavour and some orange fruit. kapusta (84), Dover, Delaware, USA Aug 11, 2007 Had this as Koningshoeven Blond, not La Trappe. This pours a light orange color with a white head. The tast is malty sweet, with hints of clove and yeast. I also tasted a cotton candy orange/citrus flavor. Better than I expected for a single Trappist ale, and stronger than I would have thought. argo0 (6861), Washington DC, USA Jul 26, 2007 (750ml bottle) Lightly hazed amber body with medium off-white head. Aroma is moderately sweet, very fruity (peach, orange, nectarine, cantaloupe), some alcohol, almond. Taste is moderately sweet, orange, raisin, some alcohol, faint cherry, soap. Creamy medium-full body, some wateriness. Too much alcohol for such a mellow ABV. mpeve (28), Bolwarra, Australia Jul 24, 2007 Clear golden colour with small white head. Friuit flavours including babna and peach. Medium body. A blond I’d definitely try again
