Bottle. Filtered, then bottled with sugar and yeast.
Ingredients: Water, Barley malt, Hops, Yeast.
This scintillating golden ale boasts a rich, fruity, and fresh aroma. And a light malty and sweet taste. It has a soft bitterness with a friendly aftertaste. A well-balanced blend of complexity and simplicity. La Trappe Blond continues to ferment in the bottle.

Bottle in Sardinia. Pours golden hazy with a medium white foamy head. Nose: Belgian yeast, fresh lemon, grapefruit, hint of banana. Mouth: overall banana notes, yeast and light citrus. Very refreshing and balanced but it doesn't mean to surprise. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from old backlog notes 07. Pours a slightly hazy dark golden color with a medium sized off white head. The aroma and flavor have sweet bready malts, yeast, mild fruitiness, light tart, some spices, decent but doesn’t stand up to some of their other beers.

33cl bb04-2016 from sampler at source. Overall much too clean, oily and above all banana-forward rendition of the style with almost no yeast complexity. Decent hop spice adding some depth, almond malts, again that clean alcoholic banana showing up. Underwhelming.

DAA; Pours hazy yellow with a frothy medium lasting, leaving lacings white to off-white head. Aroma is malt, yeast, banana, bubble gum, citrus and spice. Taste is moderate fruity sweet with balancing citrus acid, light spice and moderate lasting. Body is medium, texture is oily to creamy, carbonation is soft to avarage.

330ml bottle bought at Gorgeous Wine & Cigar in Yuen Long.

Cloudy hazy golden honey colour with thin trace of dirt-like yeast sediments; One finger head and crumpety white foam which lasts for 1 minute; Good sticky lacing with notable small carbonation; Fragrant aroma of malt, with banana, vanilla, caramel, light orange, bubblegum, sugar, ester, Bel yeast, spices, lemon and moderate grassy hops; Close to medium sweet taste of malt, with banana, orange, caramel, strong ester, spices, light alcohol, molasses, Bel yeast, lemon, light lime, very light bitter hops and light grass; Medium body. Slick and slightly creamy palate; Mouth feel is very solid Belgian Blonde - right maltyness but not too rich. Slick and creamy with right texture. Sweetness, esters and Bel yeast are right on, the banana, orange and caramel are light enough to be expressive. Also pretty spicy without too much phenolic undertone. Enjoyable!... Hoppiness is light lemon and light grassy nose. Sharp light lemony lime and thin grass in taste. Bitterness is moderate to light for a long, very low-fi bitter finish; Slightly dry after taste. Easy to mouth.

Comments: I love to hate La Trappe for its macro-ish outlook, but I also have to say this is an on-target Belgian Blonde, with aroma, maltyness, taste and feel are spot on, everything in the right place. It may not give you that “wow” like the tropical and malty Brugse Zot, but it’s nice and refreshing enough to have it again and again. Solid as a rock!

Slightly cloudy amber color with a medium-sized white head. Aroma of sweetish fruitiness - especially pear - with some yeasty spiciness and a touch of caramel maltiness. Taste is light to medium sweet. It features sweet fruitiness and both yeast and malts. The palate is medium bodied, averagely carbonated. Not bad but not abundantly rich either.
