4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 Cunningham (1754) - Halden, NORWAY - OCT 25, 2011
UPDATED: JAN 25, 2012 Bottle. Light hazy golden with a white head. Fruity and light hoppy aroma. It is not easy to write how good this beer taste. You have to explore yourself :-) But it is a bit fruity with a perfect malty taste and a nice hoppiness
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 ads135 (287) - Lawrence, USA - OCT 20, 2011
Relatively complex beer. Traces of banana, orange peel, perhaps even a bit of white pepper? A brilliant beer for a sunny day.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Swaroga (255) - Brussels, BELGIUM - OCT 15, 2011
33cl bottle. Clear yellowish amber with a beautifull snowy head.
Nose : fresh hops, a bit anised on the bottom smell.
Sip : Nice body with filled with agressive tiny sparks. Sweet but quickly overpowered by aromatic hops. It continues with fruity accents like apple and still some anised ending. Bitter hops are balancing nicely each sip. Nice blond. I need to try drought version!
3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 jesperhammer (1294) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - OCT 11, 2011
30-SEP-2011, bottle @Ulkløbben @Morten. Tasted blind.
Dark golden with an orange hue and a low off-white head.
Fruity, yeasty, and spicey nose.
Taste is the same, with oranges and banana.
Somewhat tart. Just a touch of alcohol.
Lovely malty hay’ish body. Fine carbonation and mouthfeel. Really likeable.
2.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 9/20 Bierkrug (1643) - Idar-Oberstein (In Senegal), Rhineland-Palatinate, GERMANY - SEP 30, 2011
330 ml bottle bought in Brussels but had at home in Germany. Pours a dark gold color with a thin white head. Caramel, banana and white pepper in the Aroma. Yeasty taste. Sour. Hints of white pepper, lemon peel, caramel and banana. Spicy. Lemon in the Palate. Definately poor, unpleasant finish. Dissapointing.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 tfredvik (296) - Oslo, NORWAY - SEP 18, 2011
Yay, another trappist beer! Cloudy orange body with a medium, short-lived, off-white head that reduces to a thick layer that laces the glass very well. Strong and very pleasant aroma: yeast, lots of spices, fruits (banana?), bubble gum, vanilla, citrus and a whiff of alcohol. The taste is medium sweet, a very nice, mouth-filling honey sweetness. Hardly any bitterness, but the crisp flavours saves the day: spices, honey and fruits. Medium body, oily texture and medium carbonation. Good stuff!
[33 cl bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Oslo City, Oslo]
