Nice refreshing beer no strong overall flavours good balance between bitterness and sweetness
thechandler (268), Morgantown, West Virginia, USA Jun 24, 2009 Good strong blond ale. Not overpowering though like the Quad. Crisp, yet a bit heavy and sweet. Nice. Very good. sm89walt (433), Norwich, Norfolk, England Jun 24, 2009 33cl bottle. Pours a dark golden colour with a huge frothy white head of medium density that gradually dissipates despite there being plenty of carbonation. Big banana aroma, slightly grainy with lots of sweetness. Sweet flavour profile with banana and bubblegum with a slight yeasty sourness, some bitterness and some alcoholic presence. Warming in the throat, thin body, slightly watery mouthfeel with a bit too much carbonation. Crisp and refreshing but one dimensional. Parket (219), Bruges, Belgium Jun 17, 2009 bottle, golden colour and nice but a bit unstable white head. Fruity smell, a bit like the quadrupel. Taste: very light, fruity, grainy, bananas, sweet (a little bit too sweet for me). But I’m surprised that the rating isn’t higher. Very good blond beer, certainly for a Dutch one! baart (16), Oirschot, Netherlands Jun 1, 2009 light banana, light head that dissapeared rather quick. watery with almost no flavor.maybe the worst trappist of them all. swooper (420), Kladno, Czech Republic May 30, 2009 alcohol, citrus, herbs, golden, clear, aminimal head, light sweetness, medium bitterness, sticky, medium body, average carbonation, bitter, nothing special trappist Beer2000 (1775), Kristiansand, Norway May 21, 2009 330 ml bottle. Hazy orange body with a big off-white head. Aroma is soft fruity and yeast. Flavor is a sweet, fruity and almost like matured apple cider. Medium body and a hint of alcohol in the aftertaste. Refreshing. patrick767 (2016), fort wayne, Indiana, USA May 18, 2009 draft at Arendsnest in Amsterdam - Pours mostly clear golden with a one finger white head. It smells of yeast and pale malt. The flavor is of sweet, yeasty pale malt with a touch of hops in the lightly sweet finish. It’s light to medium bodied and overall a decent session brew though I expected a bit more for a Trappist brew.
