clear dark yellow, scant head, sweet malt aroma, good body, light sweet malt flavor, hint of bitterness in the finish that eventually turns into spices, would not have guessed it to be a Belgian style

Bottle, was very lively, pouring a hazy gold with a filmy white head. A strong yeast aroma with lots of fruit and just a touch of spice. Quite a creamy palate, more spice in the flavour and some orange fruit.
3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 kapusta (86) - Dover, Delaware, USA - AUG 11, 2007
Had this as Koningshoeven Blond, not La Trappe. This pours a light orange color with a white head. The tast is malty sweet, with hints of clove and yeast. I also tasted a cotton candy orange/citrus flavor. Better than I expected for a single Trappist ale, and stronger than I would have thought.
2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 argo0 (9034) - Washington DC, USA - JUL 26, 2007
(750ml bottle) Lightly hazed amber body with medium off-white head. Aroma is moderately sweet, very fruity (peach, orange, nectarine, cantaloupe), some alcohol, almond. Taste is moderately sweet, orange, raisin, some alcohol, faint cherry, soap. Creamy medium-full body, some wateriness. Too much alcohol for such a mellow ABV.
