destroye7 (299), Melbourne, Australia Dec 3, 2005 11.2 fl. oz bottle. The head was nice, thick and foamy. The taste is a bit like bananas. It’s a light beer. ABUSEDGOAT (1934), California, USA Nov 30, 2005 This beer started and ended poorly. It was a struggle to get the cork out. Anyway... Hazy orange body with no head. Aroma is fruity with other fun Belgian stuff. Almost a stale basement feel to the flavor which hurt the fruity taste. If it’s not that it’s the yeast strain... and I don’t like it. Really an odd fruity taste, not good in a beer IMO. Almost no hop presence here other than a bitter finish. Maybe the bottle went bad, but either way I didn’t like this. I wanted to like this but it just didn’t happen. I didn’t want to post this before I finished the 750ml bottle, and believe me... it took a while. I even feel like 2.8 is a gift :( Nekronos (2243), Xalapa, Mexico Nov 27, 2005 Updated: Feb 26, 2006Well, the aroma was great, but, no foam at all, no flavor, and the colour was good, but, I did not like it at all. Rockinout (945), Kent, Ohio, USA Nov 25, 2005 Lasting white head, peppery dry hops hit you at the start. Taste has pepper with a touch of anise and ouzo. Panzerfaust (393), Santiago, Chile Nov 21, 2005 Updated: Aug 16, 2006Pours a gold and beautiful beer with a big foamy head that diminished fast and leaves a good lacing. Aroma is malty/yeasty, full of fruity notes, melon, apricot, vanilla and peaches. There are also some alcoholic hints. The flavor is sweet and leaves a warming sensation. Very fruity as the taste with little if any bitterness. Goes down smooth with a fine alcoholic note.
Light bodied and well rounded. Fine Belgian Ale. iammadeofjelly (183), Liverpool, Merseyside, England Nov 21, 2005 bubbly, small white head (i poured it crap). Fruity/floral aroma that is very faint (tho i had a bit of a blocked nose), colour is golden and turbid. It’s alright, nice belgian ale taste. sammy3D (114), Lawrenceville, Georgia, USA Nov 14, 2005 From the bottle this beer pours a gold with an orange hue. Nice full white head. Aroma is banana with spice yeast and that unique monk magic smell. Flavor is a blend of fruity malt with a small bit of spice in the finish. Light to medium feel in the mouth with a good amount of fizz. The fizz really dominates the flavor. This beer may be a good gateway beer to introduce a less experienced beer drinker to the more complex trappist ales. Not a bad trappist at all. Habanero (610), Tranbjerg, Denmark Nov 14, 2005 Medium off-white head. Orange color. Fruity aroma: banana and peach. Citrus, caramel, honey taste. Medium body.
A well balanced blonde.
