ThomasE (5179), Copenhagen, Denmark Apr 30, 2005 Hazy orange colour with a small white head. Frutiy sweet aroma with hints of apricot. Flavor is malty and fruity with a light sweetness. IPFreely (1470), Lewiston, New York, USA Apr 19, 2005 Hazy gold, off white head, tiny bubbles, lace. Fruity aroma, pear, apple, and some yeast. Malty in flavor followed up by fruity notes. Soft, smooth body. Very pleasant. Eyedrinkale (3209), Astoria, New York, USA Apr 18, 2005 Rating La Trappe Enkel, vintage 1994. 33 cl bottle pours clear amber with a smalli head. All the yeast is compacted on the bottom of the bottle. Aroma is overripe fruits. Taste is thin to medium bodied with some figs, apples and soggy cardboard. Thats not a bad thing, as I think this aged nicely. BeerBlockaid (538), Jacksonville, Florida, USA Apr 10, 2005 Konings gift pack poured into a Konings glass. Pour is a honey amber with a light head. Well balanced aroma of clove/honey and some fruit. Overall taste is very smooth and sweet with spices mentioned in smell. A little fuzzy and warm. Though not a fantastic voyage, its definately still, a smoothe rideeee. bitter (1137), Henderson, Nevada, USA Mar 30, 2005 this was the second of several de koningshoeven beer we sampled at the arendnest in amsterdam....fuckn splendid place. you can get a sampler of six beer that are served in a wooden box with a side of water and cracker to clean the palate. great idea with so many beers to try. this one is golden brown haze with a tight tan head. banana and spice nose...pushes the yeast feel up with a light bodied fruit wheat character. pretty average. beerbuzzmontreal (2909), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Mar 24, 2005 Pours an attractive hazy golden color with a thin white head that leaves decent lacing on the glass. Inviting aroma of spice, fruits(citrus and melon) and yeast. The flavor is pretty much the same as the aroma, fruits, spices and yeast but it’s less powerfull, I think that the carbonation level is too high, it hides the flavor. Light body, oily texture, fizzy carbonation. All in all, it’s a decent beer but the flavor is a letdown. Doggythedog (1541), Split, Croatia Mar 20, 2005 Finally got to taste this one. Fluffy, rapidly disappearing head. Orange/gold color - looks exactly like honey. Fruity/malty aroma. Tastes great, again, like honey, very malty. Not much hops, but I certainly wasn’t missing them much. Couldn’t detect spices really, but I do have a bit of a cold. Quite good. SSSteve (2047), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Mar 8, 2005 smells of fruit. yellow in color. tastes of vanilla, dark fruit, and alcohol. very creamy. too much like wine and the alcohol stands out.
