3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 highlandlad (1319) - Blue Mountains, AUSTRALIA - MAY 30, 2006
A decent, drinkable blond but not up to La Trappe’s usual standard. Clear burnished gold with a tall, loose head, showing good length and lacing as it receded. Classic Belgian blond aroma - bubblegum, sweet malts, grape soda, Parma Violets. Very sweet and floral. Medium bodied and a softly carbonated - perhaps could use a little more meat on its bones. Very light on its toes for the 6.5% abv. Lots of sweet malts, mashed banana, bread and honey notes before a pinch of clove in the warming finish. A little simplistic. (30cl bottle; IBS Perth; bb June 2007)

Bottle. Poured a sparkly clear cooper color with a light yellowish, creamy head that left some lacing. The aroma was fruity, floral, and citrus. The flavor found mainly fruits and spices but there were hints of honey and other malts. The flavor was really subdued in this one. Light body and lively carbonation. Slight sweetness to it.
