3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours very dark for a "blonde" with a golden brown/amber look and a decent amount of head. Aroma is lightly fruity, and a little yeasty, and the taste is sweet and a little fruity. Had this once before at a much colder temp. and it was not nearly as good, much better around 50 F.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle: Poured a golden amber with a thick creamy white head. The aroma was fruit and yeast. The flavor is a mild fruit with a dry finish. Not as harsh as some blonde beer that I have sampled.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
for a blond, she’s more of a strawberry blonde. darker pour for the style. 330ml slightly chilled to about 50 deg F. whole lotta grass in this nose, even some fall foliage. weird, but true. hardly any hops in the aroma, but all kinds of malt. interesting flavor; similar to the flavors of a dry riesling, but with more alcohol flavor. also, the flavor mimics the aroma. foamy mouthfeel. the finish turns me off, as the alcohol flavor is just not what i like to see shine through. i think i like it, but i’m not really sure. as the temp increases a bit, so does the flavor.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
330ml bottle straight from the cellar. Plenty of fruity notes on the nose; banana, peach, apricot, bit of honey and spice, bit of gassy too. Pours a thick looking golden body with big white head and sparce lace. Rich texture, surupy, with a bit of creaminess still. Palate full of banana and stone fruits, sweet, citrus, dry slightly abrupt finish with a lingering note reminisant of drinking an orange liqueur. An enjoyable ale.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Solid, if unspectacular. Certainly not up to the stands set by other Trappist products. Looks good, but with a LOT of carbonation. Doesn’t have a strong aroma or defining taste. Like drinking an attempted trappist beer

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Poured with a fairly lively head that left quite quickly. The liquid below is a slightly opaque golden orange. Early aroma is a yeasty banana whiff while the head is present, but this gives way to a more thick and syrupy canned fruit. On tasting there’s a little bit of zing from some rearguard bitterness, but it is a little lacking in oomph everywhere. Thin bodied and with a strange corny lager aftertaste it manages to fall away a bit drastically at the end.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: JAN 6, 2007 Nice golden with a huge, white head. The aroma is floral and fruity. Flavour, well I admit that La Trappe has a very, special place in my heart, I simply like their beers!! It starts sweet and lightly spicy wit a strong fruity note, I get green, sweet grapes, flower honey and the aroma of summer transformed into taste. A light citrus kicks in just before the finish. Balanced, uncomplicated and nice - and extremely charming.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Cloudy dirty blond body with a long-lasting small white head. A bit stinky with a ripe pear and peach aroma. Maybe a bit too ripe. Taste is dominated by fruitiness (peach, peach and various citrus fruits). Some cereals, a little caramel and a lick on of a fruity candy. Not very pleasant. Certainly the worst trappist beer I’ve had. La Crap Blond.

La Trapple Blond (e3.0 @ Café Arendnest)
Fairly standard blond ale, no world beater but quite solid. Sweetish malts drive the front and middle palate but the flavours do fade away somewhat in the back palate.
