3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: JUN 4, 2003 This brew has a fruity floral aroma. It poured a nice long lasting head of small and medium white bubbles that left a good lacing. Its body is a nice cloudy amber brown color. Initial taste caught me off guard but later settled into something nice. Nice drinkable brew with a mellow subtle flavor.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Sweet, lightly floral aroma, some melon and honey. Medium golden yellow color, average head. Flavor is malty and sweet, some light fruitiness and faintly spicy hop. Finishes lightly tart, mostly sweet, aftertaste sees some faint candle wax(?!). This is a decent, if uninspiring brew.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: MAY 25, 2007 Sweet, rounded palate, not too complex flavour wise, but does have subtle fruity flavours intermixed with a fine malty palate. The mouthfeel is where this beer truly shines... so full and satisfying. I like it a lot.

3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Very frothy, very active golden orange beer, great appearance. Not a great deal of aroma and flavour just generally refreshing malts. A nice refreshing belgian beer.

This was labeled Enkel Angulus. dark honey colored brew with a thin head. Malty nose. Some fruitiness with the alcohol pretty evident for 6.5%. Decent brew but I wont go out of my for it.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: FEB 21, 2003 Honeyish aroma with a little spice and hop, but fairly bland otherwise. Taste initially is honey and sweetness then dries out in the finish with a little subdued bitterness. Golden color w/ great head and lace. Some fruitiness creeps in to the flavor as it warms. Body seems medium light with higher carbonation adding to lightness of body. This is one of only a few Belg. Blondes I've had, and the last time I had one was a while ago. Very drinkable, more so on a hot summer day as opposed to a cold Cleveland winter.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Disapating head and light copper body. Big initial aroma of citrus and tropical fruits. Same in the mouth, but showing pretty good restraint. Finish is a light but sharp acidic bite, which works great with the fruity flavor. I am frankly surprised by the low ratings for this one. Maybe has a bit to do with the monastery selling out to private industry? Didn’t seem to lack flavor, as is indicated in other posts.

Bottle. A Christmas present with all the La Trappe beers, nice! A light golden yellow color with a foamy white head. A refreshing pear aroma. The body is light, sparkling, airy, fruity, and dry.
