3.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Juergen_F (21) - NETHERLANDS - JAN 16, 2011
Poured from bottle in original La Trape glass. This beer has a nice orange/copper colour and a nice dense head. It is very fruity and goes down soft as velvet. A lovely beer which is very well balanced, not too complex or too strong. This is so far one of the best brews that I have had from any of the Trappist breweries.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 janubio (223) - SPAIN - JAN 7, 2011
750 ml corked bottle. Yellow copper colour, big head that fades in a little while. Smell of spices, clove, some fruit, honey (is there a roasted background?)
Body is not as strong as I thought, in the mouth is just as the smell: spices, clove, fruty, honey and some bread. Good beer, but I expected to be more complex.

Quite fruity and light malt liquor-like. Strong and full bodied. Full of flavour. Very pleasant
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 SamGamgee (2451) - down the whirlpool, California, USA - DEC 31, 2010
Bottle from the brewery. Hazy blond with a lasting white head. Ripe fruit and bubble-gum aroma. Lightly sweet flavor with moderate fruitiness. Very light hop character. Lighter body. Comes off as mostly sweet, without much character overall. Nothing offensive about it though.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Ryan82SM (755) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - DEC 24, 2010
Bottle labeled Koningshoeven Blond; from 10\06. Aroma really reminds me of Riesling with honey, along with a touch of lemon and citrus. Appearance is cloudy gold with light white head- lacing actually coated the inside of my glass upon pouring. Flavor matches the nose; all the fruits are very muted and finish quite dry- definite alcohol presence preceding the dry finish. Palate is lightly bubbly and a little creamy with a thin mouthfeel. Overall, this is very interesting for me to try- an aged blond ale. The results are fascinating, and I would like to see where this goes with a couple more years of age, even if the result is detrimental.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 igniztion (313) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - DEC 21, 2010
Bottle 330ml at home
Pours honey yellow with minimal white head. Aroma has hints of fresh fruits and banana sweetness. Tastes of fruits, caramel and typical trappist yeast. A bit sour at first, but then lasting sweetness. A bit watery with lively carbonation.
