Bottle, 33cl. Pours a clear mahogany beer with an offwhite head. The aroma is malt, sweetness, fruit with notes of alcohol. The flavor is malt, sweetness and caramel. The palate is sweet. Overall a good beer.

Tap 30cl trappist cup. Toasted head and brwn colour; with caramel aroma. Sweetness to the palate. From my point of view it is not a real bock but a "special" trappist beer. Easy to drink and favourable to finish the night...

(750 ml bottle (2007) from 1828 Vintage House) Pours dark clear tea-colored brown with a very tall, quickly rising tan head with each pour. Aroma of chocolate and brown sugar with Band Aid. Mouthfeel fairly smooth, lightly pebbly and maybe lightly chalky, perhaps a touch fizzy. Flavor of chocolate, light brown sugar and lightly sour, tangy red wine. Quite phenolic initially. Also kind of hot and boozy all around for just a 7% beer. This bottle may be slightly off, a little infected. Kind of a strange example of a dunkler bock, seems like there is some Belgian influence (which I’m not sure is beneficial in this case).

hmmm, aroma of french crapes with strawberry jam with some alcohol through it. Head is big and uneven on a ruby red beer. The taste is good too, but the hoppyness is a little bit too much.

Bottle. Unclear dark brown with a big, slowly-diminishing, beige head. Aroma of caramel, raisins, plums and other dark fruits. Sweet malty taste with some caramel, toastiness, some nuts, light licorice hints, dark fruits, a bit of spiciness and alcohol and metal notes. Medium-bodied.

(bottle - 330 ml) Clear brown color with a frothy tan head. Aroma is sweet and fruity. Lots of plums and caramel up front. Flavor starts with a sweet and fruity taste mixing with some mild spice and dark malts. There’s a nice and semi-sweet cocoa middle along with some more fruits and spices. A nice yeasty finish comes up and leaves a mild sweetness.

Deep brown, slightly hazy pour with a thick tan head and some nice ruby highlights. Really good looking beer. The nose is fairly plummy and chewy. A soft spicy yeast with a bit of dark sweet fruit skin. A touch of clove and some light tannins as well. There is a kiss of cocoa on the back. The beer is well-balanced and eminently drinkable. It’s sweet but not cloying. Toasty with a bit of rye-like sweetness. A little bit rummy with a lovely sweet molasses character. This isn’t a bock, but it’s very good.
