badgerben (3586), Blaine, Minnesota, USA Feb 28, 2008 Dark copper color with a large head. No aroma. Literally, no aroma. Weird, even Budweiser has an aroma. A little yeast flavor, some bread and slight malt. It seems like a very light bock grain bill, fermented with a Belgian yeast. Emil (6075), Copenhagen, Denmark Feb 16, 2008 Bottle. A dark amber beer with a big beige head. The aroma and taste is of caramel malt and fruits. Medium body with a light dry finish. mike1977ok (633), Netherlands Feb 16, 2008 A thick, heavy head tops this dark brown beer. Aroma is quite vinious and a little malty. A shame that the cork (75cl bottle) has tainted the smell and flavour a little. Flavour is bitter and dry with a little malt coming through. Texture is smooth and oily.
joergen (8429), Frederiksberg, Denmark Feb 10, 2008 Bottle.
Clear orange coloured with a medium sized off white head.
Sweet aroma of malts, hay, caramel and dried fruits.
Flavour of malts, caramel, dried fruits and hops.
Hoppy finish.
Light alcoholic. BückDich (4785), McCall, Idaho, USA Feb 7, 2008 Bottle (Koningshoeven Bock): Misty ruby, nice head and lacing. Nose of caramel, fruit (fig) and lots of bread. Burnt marshmallow afterthought. The flavor is malty with burnt sugar. Nice malty complexities throughout the flavor that just vanish in the finish. Nice drinker though. drpimento (785), La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA Feb 5, 2008 Poured with a nice head and some lace. Very ahcoholic aroma. decent dark wood color. Not as sweet as I would expect in a bock. Give ’em credit for distinction though. Full mouth filling body. Slightly unpleasant bitter finish. Not one of my favorites. Chiel (12), Netherlands Feb 5, 2008 A slightly lighter bockbeer than other ductch Bock’s. lavour: Caramel, hop and nuts. Available from half September till March, gets better in time. IndianaRed (1553), Boise, Idaho, USA Feb 4, 2008 Bottle pours a medium brown, with a nice viscous flow. Modest but lasting light tan head. Malty and rich slightly chocolate aroma. Some slightly ascidic notes and an overall woody lightly sweety dark malt flavor.
