Jan 4, 2007 My eyes were almost popping out of my head when I saw this one at a friends place, he just had returned from Holland. My fingers clinged to the neck of the bottle and I could not release the grip - so I simply HAD to take it home with me ;)) The color is mahogany and the head is huge and nice. Flavour, well I admit that La Trappe has a very, special place in my heart, I simply like their beers!! It’s full-bodied and balanced with notes of roasted malt, caramel, a bit of fruit and the sweetness is just right (not nearly as sweet as many bock-beers). The alcohol is present, but not enough to disturb the picture.

Fresh and rather sweet flavour.; maybe some chocolate.
Dry, late bitterness.

Dec 15, 2006 0,7l Bottle: Deep red amber colour, with a nice creamy head. Aroma of flowers,jeast,citrus, lots of malts, smells lika a typical Belgium ale.Even it is coming from the Netherlands.
Flavor is almost the same as the aroma +Vine, citrus, caramel, and a nice hopy/bitter finish. Medium body, and a medium finish.
But is this a bock beer?

Dec 9, 2006 Aroma: apple peel, caramel malt, vanilla, chocolate, sourish yeast, molasses, some unusual hops, earthy, cellar.
Appearance: deep red brown, very beautiful. Clear. Yellowbeigetinted, fine foam that looks very appetizing.
Flavour: big maltiness, bitterness that lingers about, cacao, some malty sweetness, truly cocoa bitterness, some soapy hopbitterness.
Palate: however fizzy it’s got a fluffy, great body.
