COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This unique seasonal product is the world’s only Trappist bock ale. Brewed exclusively with natural ingredients, this ale post-ferments slightly in its bottle. It has a deep red colour, an intensely rich taste, and a malty aroma. Aromatic hop varieties and types of burnt malt render this ale its delicate bitterness that blends surprisingly well with its slightly sweet undertone.

La Trappe Bock has 7% ABV.

fles 33 cl Kleur: Diep donker rood met een lichtbruine brede schuimkraag. Geur: Kruidig en zoet. Smaak: Licht zoet, maar ook bitter. Lekker nasmaak van gebrand mout. Redelijk veel koolzuur

Pours a dark brown body, with a big tan head. Aroma: Mostly malty. Taste: I can taste toffee and caramel which give it a sweet taste. It’s also malty. And it has a roasty medium finish, not too long....

Bottle, 33cl. Pours a dark brown, with an impressive offwhite head. Smells of bready yeast and malt, with actually a lot of metallic scent (oxidation, I’m guessing). Tastes a mild sweetness, with an even milder bitter follow. Some dried red fruit, with a hint of brown sugar and some spice. Plenty of metal in the taste too, but it only popped up after my first impressions -- this bottle was very likely unintentionally aged for way too long before I even got it. Medium bodied, soft carbonation. Texture is pretty creamy. I’ll have to find a newer example for next time: this one hints at something that could be quite impressive.

Dark clear ruby brown with a thick creamy tan head that diminishes quickly leaving a good lace. Typical plummy bock aromas of munich malts, sundried raisins and plum jam. Full bodied, well balanced, all on the munich malts and finishing on a chocolate note. Nice bock.
