3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle, from trade with jbrus. A dark reddish brown beer topped by a dense, beige head. Nutty nose with some roasted malts and a little touch of alcohol. Roasted and nutty flavor with a herbal bitterness. Warming, full.bodied and semi-dry. The flavor has a good bitterness, and some pleasant alcohol warmth, as well as some nutty maltyness. The most interesting part of this beer is that it’s from a Trappist brewery, but it’s also a fine dark bock. 100326

Bottle. Pours a great looking dark brown with tan head. Aroma is great, notes of malt, dark fruit, black licorice, brown sugar and spice. Flavor is very much the same, semi sweet as well with a touch of dark roasted grain and a nice burnt grain bitter. Mouth feel is medium body with medium carbonation.
